Bottle French dressings are about the only ones I can stand in the fat free version. They are generally a little too sweet for my taste so I mix them with yellow mustard 2 parts dressing to one of mustard. If you prefer to use fat free mayonnaise in this recipe remember the dressing will become quite watery after 24 hours in the frig.

Tangy Cole Slaw

8 cups shredded green cabbage
1/2 cup shredded carrot
1/4 cup finely diced red onion
1/4 cup fat free Catalina French dressing
1/4 cup reduced fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon Mrs.Dash (R) table blend

In a large plastic container, toss together cabbage, carrot and onion. In a small bowl combine remaining ingredients until smooth. Toss with vegetables. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours to blend flavors. Keeps well in the frig for 3 days. Serves 8

If you want half the volume for this recipe, half of 1/4 cup is 2 tablespoons. This recipe would be delicous with full fat dressing and mayonnaise and would keep better in the frig. I'm at a stage of my life where I need to watch my fat intake.

Trying to make sweet and sour shrimp with deep fried shrimp. Coating came off the shrimp when I put the sauce on. My familiy refused to eat it. We were short of money then and it hurt to waste the food and then go get MacDonald's for dinner.
