Dear Readers: Was really down in the dumps yesterday. Had to shut down my website. It seemed to be the source of very serious viruses to my home computer. I had it up for almost 2 years but in that time I did not sell one cookbook through it. I only seem to sell them through word of mouth so I need to figuratively "hit the bricks" to sell the inventory I have left. I really love sharing recipes but thought maybe my efforts were for nothing.

THEN:  I searched for my original recipe here, Day Before Pay Day Fried Rice. I have so many positive reviews. I had no idea so many people had tried it and liked it. It warms the cockles of my heart.

I think I'll post a recipe a week on my blog. I had been writing a recipe newsletter for other farm share members but lost the distribution list with the website. I think if I start each blog title for the rest of the growing season with "Farm Share" they will be able to find me.

So, as I've told other members, I'm telling myself... BLOG ON!

CJ, have you asked a local book store to stock it for you for a split fee?

Or a local, non-chain grocery store?

OK, one more idea - what about a church group or some other type of organization for a percentage of the profits?

Belles, I've got so many cookbooks from churches. It's every recipe that's every been served at a potluck or a funeral dinner. At least I know CJ's cookbook will involve something a little more substantial.

Thanks for the suggestions. I need to be proactive. Going to go to some specialty cooking stores also. I did give my church 10 copies of my book to sell at their yard sale with the entire price going to the fund they were raising money for. Only one of the workers bought one. I was working that day so she tried to sell them for me. She said most people were reading them, apparently trying to memorize some of them. Times are tough and there are certainly lots of free ways to get recipes. Thanks so much for your interest. Going to try to get the daughter of one of my co-workers to post a comment on my blog. Evidently she uses my book all the time. She even serves the dishes at family special occasions. They are of Italian descent so that is saying something. CJ

About Me
I love to develop new recipes. I have had 15 recipes published by Reiman publications, publishers of TASTE OF HOME magazine. I like to try at least one new recipe a week. My other interests that aren't listed above are running and horse racing. By profession I am a registered medical technologist currently working in microbiology at a local medical center.
My favorite things to cook
Soups. Main dishes for interesting evening meals. Simple baking like cookie jar cookies and quick breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I basically make Thanksgiving dinner like my mom did.
My cooking triumphs
Winning a runner up prize for my lasagne recipe when I worked for the Nestle corporation. (I was a part time R&D assistant for the Willy Wonka Candy Factory)
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make sweet and sour shrimp with deep fried shrimp. Coating came off the shrimp when I put the sauce on. My familiy refused to eat it. We were short of money then and it hurt to waste the food and then go get MacDonald's for dinner.
