Today's recipe is for a creamy Italian salad dressing. If made with nonfat mayonnaise, about 26 calories per 2 tablespoons. I usually use reduced fat mayonnaise because it becomes more watery with the nonfat after a day or two. I certainly use bottled salad dressing for convenience and as a recipe ingredient. However, I am getting as fussy about the taste of my dressings as I am about my soups. In the winter I make 1 to 2 homemade soups (I do used canned broth) per week. Now that it's summer I make up at least one homemade salad dressing a week. Fresh dressing really tastes great on the fresh greens of summer. I also like salad recipes where the dressing directions are included. Usually the amount of dressing is just enough for the dish. Trying to make sweet and sour shrimp with deep fried shrimp. Coating came off the shrimp when I put the sauce on. My familiy refused to eat it. We were short of money then and it hurt to waste the food and then go get MacDonald's for dinner.
