Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
So good! I changed things up a bit but that was to fit what was in my fridge/cupboard. I used 1 can of the cream chicken soup and 1 can of chicken stock + a bit of water. I added some celery and baby carrots (sliced lengthways, a couple of cubed up potatoes and some garlic. Then I thickened the liquid with 1/3 of a cup of flour mixed with 1/3 of a cup of water. Looked really good at this point and then I used 1.5 cups of Bisquick and 1/2 a cup of milk to make the dumplings dropped into the slow cooker by the spoonful, put the lid on for 35 minutes and wowsers!! Delicious.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
So yummy!! I can't wait to try it with the Uncle Ben's rice but I used half a cup of regular, slow cooking rice and just cooked it in the broth for about 15ish minutes and it was fine. I subbed regular milk in for the cream, also fine. To give it a bit of colour, I chopped up some carrots and threw them in the soup broth while I was cooking the rice in there. My kids made me promise to make this one again!! Yay!!!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
Fantastic!! I doubled the recipe to make 3 very yummy thick crusted pizzas. I did precook them for about 5 minutes before I put the toppings on. My new bread machine doesn't handle making big batches of dough so I tried making this by hand and was very impressed with how easy it was. Thanks so much!!!

I thought it was good but my husband definitely wasn't crazy over it. I will make this again but will save it for a night when my husband won't be home for dinner.

Raisin Sauce for Ham II

Quite good, I didn't have any lemon zest so I just left it out and the whole family enjoyed it. Definitely a change from the usual plain ham.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I rated these a 4 but they are an easy 5 if you cut the salt way back! I only added 1/2 tsp of salt and that was plenty. They have great flavour, the garlic is fantastic paired up with the basil ... we will definitely be making these again. The oil was good in the burgers, I was kind of skeptical while putting the mixture together but it keeps the burgers nice an juicy. Thanks!!

Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Fantastic!! I will be making this regularly! I did use 3 cloves of crushed garlic instead of the garlic powder and mixed it and the other herbs in with the melted margarine and just dunked the pieces of dough in that. I sprinkled the cheese and a little bit of oregano on top ... I love it!!!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
I tried this with a few tweaks after reading through the reviews. I increased the flour to 1.5 cups, decreased the egg to only 1 egg, added 1.5 tbsp of baking powder. I baked the dough for 10 minutes at 400 degrees before adding some toppings (some cooked chicken, tomato, onion, green pepper, black olives, mozza and feta on top of a bit of pizza sauce) and we were really impressed with this. Again, this is not traditional pizza dough, it is much more like a flatbread but really good like this!! I will definitely make again.

This was quite good but next time I will cut back the sugar. I used the blender to get the smooth texture that was needed for the souffle.
