Berry Delicious

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
We've made this a few times now and the kids love it! They beg for this for dessert. The first time we used frozen strawberries and two bananas (no sugar). Tonight we used frozen raspberries, one banana, and vanilla yogurt (we were out of strawberry), and again no sugar. I'm not a big fan of smoothies myself, but I love that the kids are raving over this healthy dessert!

Brownie Crackles

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
They were very thin and just wouldn't cook. I had them in the oven for 20 minutes and they were still just a pile of goo when I tried to take them off the pan. Possibly it's because companies are making boxes smaller since this recipe was originally posted pre-recession. My brownie mix was only 17.4 ounces, as opposed to the 19.8 oz mix listed in the recipe.

Baked Ziti with Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
Delicious! I served this at a party recently and got rave reviews. One guest told me, "I've eaten a lot of ziti in my life but this is by far the best I've ever had." I tripled the recipe so it's hard to give exact measurements on the things that I changed. I used only one large onion for my triple batch and sauteed the garlic and onion with the sausage. Used a little more ricotta than the recipe called for. Didn't use any black pepper. Lost track of how much spaghetti sauce and cheese I used -- just kept piling it on! I baked it uncovered for an hour. Cheese on top was nice and golden brown. YUM!

Easy Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
This is the recipe my grandmother passed down to me. We've been making it for years. This is the first time I tried it with poultry seasoning and thought it was a nice touch. We use 1/2 an onion, no celery, and bread crumbs instead of cubes. A classic!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
First, let me just say that the flavor was FANTASTIC. Absolutely delicious and oh so creamy. But it was so runny that I had to keep it in the freezer. Even straight out of the freezer, I could cut it easily with a butter knife. The stuff just melted in our hands as we ate it. Maybe I didn't boil it long enough. I'm willing to try this recipe again because of the amazing flavor but next time I will follow other reviewers' advice about boiling to the softball stage.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I found this recipe to be very dry and crumbly. Not at all creamy like fudge should be. The taste was meh, nothing to get excited about. Still on the hunt for a good pb fudge recipe.... sigh.

Party Punch I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Yummy! I halved the recipe and only used 2 liters of Sprite instead of four. Got rave reviews from my coworkers.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
As written, 2 stars; with adjustments, 4 stars. These were way to runny and bland the first time around. I tried again and used 1/2 cup milk (instead of a whole cup), 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/8 tsp cinnamon (instead of a dash), and substituted applesauce for the oil. Very yummy and good texture.

Jammin' Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
This was my first attempt at beef stew. I chose this recipe since I like sweet/savory combinations and I wasn't disappointed. This was delicious!! Will definitely make again.

Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
Great dish! I made this for both the Thanksgiving dinners we went to this year. My mom and grandmom don't like sweet potatoes but raved over this recipe. My aunt quickly called dibs on the small amount of leftovers we had. I ended up eating only a small portion because I was feeding our 18-month-old twins from my plate and they couldn't get enough! One of DH's cousins even called the next day to get the recipe. Two changes I made: (1) 1/2 the pepper -- the pepper completely overpowered the dish otherwise, and (2) I used canned beets cause that's all I had on hand. One can = 3 beets called for in recipe. I didn't cook them ahead; just threw them into pan with the rest and cooked for 45 minutes. Everything came out tender and delicious! My grandmom, the sweet-potato-hater, asked me to bring the same dish to Christmas!!

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
Made this cake for my dad's birthday. He ALWAYS asks for a yellow or vanilla cake, so was surprised this year when he branched out with lemon. I tried this recipe because it sounded mild, and he LOVED IT!!!! It's his new favorite cake. He took some to work and it was quickly devoured. Even my mom, who doesn't like lemon, thought this cake was good. One variation -- I used lemon cake mix and french vanilla pudding instead of yellow mix and lemon pudding. I'll be making this cake every year from now on! Thanks for sharing!!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
Why is this considered a slow cooker recipe? These never last long enough at my house to warrant serving in the crockpot. Just pile on a plate and tell the guests to get em while they're hot! You'll be shocked how fast these little buggars disappear. :) My stomach's growling just thinking about them...

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
SUPER TASTY. At one party, I ran out of Nilla Wafers before the fluff dip ran out, so guests grabbed spoons and finished it off! (Okay, we weren't quite sober, but it was still a hit!!!) Half the recipe is more than enough though.

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
I usually leave off the frosting, as these are sweet enough and I'm not a fan of frosted brownies anyway. Otherwise, this recipe is perfect as is and I've received many compliments on this wonderful dessert!
