I have a toddler, so I don't get to cook as often as I'd like. Plus, my husband and I don't often have the same taste. I like to experiment with exotic flavors and he likes more traditional food. But he still says I'm a good cook.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make easy recipes that taste as if they took hours. I like recipes with a rich, full flavor. I also like to experimet, but when I cook, I don't always measure so it can be hard to duplicate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom didn't like to cook, so I don't have any cooking traditions. I would like to start one though. Some co-workers had a cookie exchange this past year. I hope this will become some sort of tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Before I was married, I went to my current husband's house to cook dinner. I was going to fry some scallops, but he didn't have any traditional oil or butter. So, I wrapped each scallop in a slice of prosciutto and fried it in coconut oil. It turned out delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a blue cheese/white wine sauce to put over some filet mignon, but didn't taste it before I put it on the filets. It was horrible. I wasted some expensive meat.
