Pumpkin Roll II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Oh boy, just made this for the first time (second time ever trying a roll type dessert). The taste is absolutely immense! The roll did crack in a couple places despite following the recipe to a T, so got 4 stars for that. But the taste is 5 stars for sure! I added a few chocolate chips to the filling and a teaspoon of pumpkin spice instead of the cinnamon. I used self-raising flour instead of all-purpose and therefore did not put in any baking powder. When they say use lots of powdered sugar for it, they really mean it! Definitely a keeper, would like to figure out how to do it without cracking, but as I said, the taste makes up for the cracks. :)

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Tried and true, awesome old-fashioned lemonade. Does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. Thanks for sharing, it's the best thing ever on a hot summer day! I ended up using seven lemons rather than six just for personal preference.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I was really expecting something out of this world as per the hundreds of five star reviews, but we were pretty disappointed as these were just 'nice' but not spectacular. It amounts to fried chicken with a spicy sauce, but it did not taste like the famous ones at all. I followed the recipe exactly so I'm not sure why this is so, except that perhaps using the ''Frank's Hot Sauce'' makes all the difference in the world, in which case it should be listed in the original recipe. As two other reviewers noted, however, this recipe is *not* what buffalo wings are, so the name is misleading. They were pretty good but not worthy of five stars, sorry.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
This is really good and has the potential to be 5 stars by adding more flavor. It is moving in the right direction but needed a little more 'oomph' so next time I will probably add more pineapple juice and vinegar, and then test taste it before I serve it. I also chose to use red food color instead of orange just for personal preference, and I used a good number of drops of that, by the way, to achieve a nice red sauce instead of a pale colored sauce. Definitely will be making this again. Thanks

Campbell's Kitchen French Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I thought it was very tasty and easy to make as well. I fried some onions prior to cooking the hamburgers and then added them to the dry onion soup mix. My husband didn't care for these at all because he felt that dipping the hamburger bun in the sauce made it soggy and he doesn't like that texture. But I loved it and thought it made a great midweek meal.

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly and found it to be ok. I would eat it again if it were served but I would never ask for it. Tastier than a plain pork chop but a bit too tomato-ey even with the added spices. It was tender, though. Other than the tomato flavor, though, I didn't think there was a big taste off it. I was a little disappointed as the other reviews for it are so high, but I guess it could just boil down to individual preference.

Beef Teriyaki

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
Very average recipe as it stands, but as per other reviewer's suggestions, adding a bit more of this and that helps boost the flavor. Definitely *not* a ''teriyaki'' recipe, however. As noted, it is a decent ''beef and broccoli'' recipe. My husband prefers well done veggies so I would at least partially boil/steam the broccoli before adding to the beef mixture as otherwise they are way too crispy for him. Overall, not a bad recipe but also not memorable.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
This is amazing! Can't say enough how excellent the flavors and ease of making is. Can use it on so many things! I topped with homemade cinnamon rolls and will use on carrot cake or certain muffins as well. Very sweet (which I love). I used low fat cream cheese to attempt some observation of being calorie conscious..haha..thanks!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I enjoyed this a lot for the flavor. Meatloaf is meatloaf and doesn't generally have much variety, but some are definitely more enjoyable than others, and this recipe is top notch if you are into meatloaf. Thanks!

Awesome way to be creative with Mexican. My husband said it was like the Mexican version of lasagne. Easy to prepare and topped with sour cream and salsa. Thanks!

Bubba's Jambalaya

Awesome recipe! Very flavorful and definitely reserved for meat lovers. Worth the effort of cooking up the meats and putting it together if you are craving that kind of southern cajun taste.

Crescent Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
A nice change from regular beef casserole. I used ''Easy Biscuit Mixture'' from this site to go over the top as canned biscuit stuff is not available where I live. Will be sure the biscuits on top are not piled so thick as the meal is ''heavy'' enough without putting a mile of dough on top..haha..but the flavors and idea are superb, thanks!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
YUM!! This recipe is the BUSINESS. My family loved them! It goes without saying that those who will love this best are those who enjoy sweet potatoes and burritos. It definitely sounds unusual and may seem too weird until you try them. We want more! Great to freeze as noted by others, quick and easy to reheat. Nice to have non-meat alternative that is filling and pleases my husband.
