Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas
Ok I am in a country that you can not just go out to the store and buy Flour Tortillas so I though well I will just have to learn how to make them. I have tried once before with white wing but it never worked. So here in Hanoi, Vietnam they only have wheat flour which worked GREAT with this recipe. I did add 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda and I used butter shorting instead of plain shorting which made a big differance. Also I use almost boiling water and slowly added. I have a kitchen Aid and I used the dough hook for the whole process of making this batch. I first added all the dry ingredients then the shorting and last the water slowly. I covered the dough with a warm paper towel while I was rolling out the dough which keep the doug from drying out. I love this recipe so much I made three batches and I batch for chips which I baked in the oven. This is a keeper.
