Burmese Chicken Curry

This is really excellent. Spicy but not unbearable and would go great with a yogurt/cucumber raita. I would double the sauce though, definitely not cut back as another reviewer suggested. We didn't have enough to make much sauce at all for the rice.

Peanut Beef Stir-Fry

Excellent! Although you're forewarned - this recipe makes a TON of sauce so unless you like your veggies pretty soaked you might find that aspect upsetting. Personally, my family loves a lot of sauce (and since it's not a particularly caloric sauce) it's perfect. Also, it's fantastic with extra veggies and no beef at all in case anyone's wondering!

Pie Crust V

My husband thought it was too much like a cookie for a pie crust so he wouldn't eat the pie at all. I actually didn't mind the crust and thought it was ok but maybe it's just a bit too rich for a sweet potato pie.

Banana Banana Bread

I added cinnamon, vanilla, and a little oil and water because the batter was initially too thick. The color and appearance wasn't very attractive and I would've increased the sugar another 1/2 cup. But it had a nice moist tender texture and definite strong banana taste. Definitely an unbeatable base recipe.

Reuben Casserole

PERFECT way to use up a leftover corned beef dinner. I replaced the sauerkraut with chopped cooked cabbage , then drizzled it with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Then everything else as written and it was SO good.

Artichoke Chicken

I replaced the 3/4 cup mayonnaise with 1/2 cup mayo, half cup fat free Miracle Whip mixture. I also added a little sour cream, and a tablespoon each of mustard, horseradish sauce, and lemon juice. A really EXTREMELY good and easy to make dinner.

Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

This was phenomenal but I did change a few things. I replaced the ricotta with additional feta and reduced the parsley by half. I also added a dash of lemon juice and a tablespoon of fresh chopped dill.

Personally I found it was too oniony for my taste. My boyfriend thought it was to die for though, ate it cold. I replaced the cinnamon stick with several tablespoons of cinnamon.

Polynesian Sausage Supper

It was good and filling...not exceptional. The sauce was nice and thick but needed a little more flavor. I'd recommend adding some spices for flavor. I omitted the tomatoes, substituting a little tomato paste. I also replaced the smoked sausage with mild Italian sausage.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Ok....for chocolate chip CAKE. I was looking for cookies. I omitted the white chocolate chips and cut the recipe in half. It was a little dry and definitely a cake.

Khoresht Fesenjaan (Chicken with Pomegranate Sauce)

I wasn't sure if I liked this at first but it does grow on you as you eat it. It has an unusual taste. I replaced the pomegranate juice with a tablespoon of pomegranate molasses. I omitted the squash (didn't have any) and it still tasted very good.

Wonderful, really authentic in flavor. Increase the sugar though for more Western tastes, I'd say increase it to 1 3/4 cups to 2 cups sugar if you plan on feeding it to people who didn't grow up eating it.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Pretty good, the sauce was a bit too thin and tart to do much for me. I got the feeling that this would be a good "base" recipe. I'd definitely recommend adding garlic and increasing the amount of seasonings if you're fond of more flavorful food.

This was good, more man food than chick food if you'll allow me to stereotype. Very filling and hearty. Watch the chicken though, it really should be cooked through after twenty minutes. Also, wait till the last 10 minutes to add the cheese.

Chickpea Curry

I thought it was ok. My boyfriend really didn't like it at all. I thought the flavors needed more depth, it was hot but there was no layering of flavors. If I made it again I'd add a tablespoon of sugar, potatoes, and some meat to make it more interesting.

Dirt Cake I

I was kind of disappointed with this dish which was probably my fault. All the stellar reviews got my expectations pretty high. I omitted the butter and reduced the whipped cream slightly. It was definitely a little too sweet for my taste and my boyfriend's and next time I make it I'd omit the sugar as well and add more cream cheese.

Glazed Meatloaf I

I really like this a lot. It's the only meatloaf my boyfriend will eat! I substituted the onion with onion powder (I love onions, my boyfriend does *not*) and added garlic powder and a little salsa.
