Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

This turned out quite well. The only issue I had with it was the lack of salt. Next time I would increase the salt to 3/4-1 tsp.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

This steak marinade was good. Not best in existence, but good. I didn't find that it tenderized the steak much, which is what I was really looking for. I will probably use this marinade again with a more tender cut of beef. I also like my marinade to have a little sweetness to it, so I would probably add some honey or brown sugar to it next time too.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

I have always loved this recipe since the first time I tried it at a Pampered Chef party. It is sooo tasty. I usually a little extra in the veggie department just to bulk it up and make it a little healthier. Also, I use the multigrain crescent roll dough - it adds a fuller, nuttier flavour to the braid.

Unbelievable Chicken

This marinade truly is unbelievable! Excellent flavour, very tender meat! Next time I am going to do what another reviewer recommended: butterfly the chicken breast so that more surface area can marinate, because more of this marinade can only be a good thing!

Chicken Biryani, Hyderabadi Style

When I read the recipe I was so excited to try it. Now I am just disappointed and have a big bowl of leftovers that may end up going to waste. Not a recipe that I will try again - way too bland.

Baklava

I actually found this baklava dry. I don't know how that could be with the syrup. Also, there just wasn't enough spice, I would definitely recommend increasing the cinnamon and throwing some nutmeg in.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

This was my first time ever making or eating Tres Leches. It was interesting. I have to give the recipe 4 stars because it was easy to follow, easy to make and the flavours are really good. I am just a little weirded out by the soaked cake - the texture is so different from what I am used to.

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

This recipe was great! A little of everything - sweet, sour, salty and spicy. The only change I would make in the future is to cut back on the thickener ... less is more with in this case. Also I did make one addition to the recipe - I added a chopped green pepper right before adding the sauce. I just needed a veggie in there somewhere. Thanks for the recipe!

Stir-Fry Spinach Salad

This recipe was excellent! I am always looking for different ways to use spinach and this recipe really hits the mark! It's sweet and salty and just right! The only thing I wasn't really keen on was the tomatoes, which is totally puzzling to me as I am a huge tomato fan. Next time I make this I think I will try cooking the tomatoes with the chicken and see how that works out.

Greek Penne and Chicken

This was great!! I did add about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of the pasta water just to make it a little more saucy. It was really good this way. Then, I had a happy accident. I left the burner on low while I was eating supper and didn't realize it was still heating away ... when I came back out to the kitchen and discovered it, all the liquid had been absorbed and it was amazing!!! So yummy! A definite keeper with that extra liquid and cooking time! Thanks so much!

Great recipe! I had to make a small change. I mixed the mayo, S&P, vinegar and sugar and then taste tested it. It was very puckery! So I never added the lemon juice and I had to add more sugar - basically doubled it. Other than that, I was great.

Grilled Hawaiians

This sandwich was just ok. After reading so many great reviews, I was sure this would be a hit. I was quite disappointed with the flavour, or rather, lack of it. I found the sandwich quite bland. That's not to say I won't try it again - only the next time I will try another reviewer's suggestion about using mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce.

Excellent recipe! Wonderful flavour and body. Next time though, I am going to sub some of the all-purpose flour with some multigrain or whole wheat flour just to what kind of results I will get. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Scallops

The scallops turned out great! They were cooked to perfection, the recipe was easy to assemble, and flavour was wonderful. I used butter crackers that were were reduced salt and found that is was salty enough as it was. Thanks for the recipe!

Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

These potatoes were great! They roasted up beautifully. In past reviews, there were complaints that smashing the potatoes and then mixing with the topping left a mess, but that was fine with me. It produced different sized pieces that cooked to different degrees. This is definitely a recipe that will be staying in my favourites folder!
