Never Fail Applesauce Spice Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
An easy and mildly flavored applesauce cake which is even better the second day. As my husband can't eat nuts, I substituted raisins and it turned out perfectly. I used a thick butter vanilla glaze instead of the frosting. Thank for sharing.

Impossibly Easy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
I like this, but will alter it next time. My family said it had too much batter and not enough chicken or vegetables.

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I wanted a recipe for a small batch of thick tasty brownies and this is it. I followed the recipe exactly and loved the outcome. I put a few brownies in the freezer for later. I shall continue to use this recipe as I always have these ingredients on hand. Thanks for sharing.

Coconut Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I added more coconut (about 1 1/4 cup) which is probably why I had to bake this pie longer than the recipe called for; nevertheless, it was delicious.

No Bake Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
This is an easy and good tasting cookie for the busy cook. I added the cocoa when the sugar/butter/milk mixture started to boil and boiled fully for 2 minutes, then added 1 tsp. vanilla. I used 3/4c of coconut for the extra ingredient. The cookies were perfect. Thanks for sharing.

My family loves this cookie. The spices are not too overpowering. I've made oatmeal cookies from many different recipes and I keep returning to this one. Thanks for sharing.

Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
So simple and so good---just enough flavor for most people. I'd never cooked peaches prior to baking. That is a great idea. I also chop the peaches with my kitchen shears so they will spread throughout the batter. Thanks again. I love simple.

Springtime Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
So good! I didn't use radishes and I used pickle relish as I didn't have any pickle cubes on hand. The dressing was great and the salad was even better the next day. Next time I may use a little extra dressing. Thanks for sharing.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
I've made this recipe many times. It has turned out to be our favorite bread pudding recipe because of the ease to make and it can be made with cheap white bread and still tastes great.

This is a wonderful rich cake. I noticed the boys and men in the family especially liked this cake. We have skipped a couple of years making this, but everyone is wanting it again.

Pauline Werner's Beef Stew

So easy and so good. I added beef cubes (3-4) to the hot water instead of using beef broth. Also, I added 1 TBS. of A1 sauce. Thanks for sharing such a simple and delicious recipe.

This is as good as it gets for a basic apple crisp. I halfed the recipe and then halfed the water and doubled the topping. Everyone enjoyed.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
Great corn chowder recipe. I didn't use the crumbled bacon, but did use the bacon grease for flavor. I used cream corn. Next time I will use broth instead of water. I probably won't eat this often for health reasons, but I'm glad to have the recipe. It tasted good the next day warmed in the microwave.

Vanilla Ice Cream V

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
My husband loves ice cream. He's eaten some of the best commercial ice cream there is, but this homemade ice cream is his favorite. He loves the taste as well as the texture. When I make it, I make it in small batches in a small counter top ice cream maker and use a good brand of vanilla.
