About this Cook
I am a 24 year old business girl here in Winnipeg. I am learning how to cook for the first time in my life. I have eaten out everyday for the past 7 years and I got to the point where enough was enough. I want to feel healthier and the extra money will help out a lot. I love this site becasue I don't have a clue how to create anything and the comments really help me out.
My favorite things to cook
So far in my "learning how to cook" stage, I like to bake muffins, cookies and easier dishes like casseroles. I do not like casseroles but they are easy. I really want to learn how to make good stirfrys and pasta dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother and grandmother put me to shame. The things they can do are remarkable. I would have a heart attack if I had to cook the things they do for a whole family. My favorite memories are of my grandmother baking me fresh donuts in the winter time and my mother's coffee cake.
My cooking tragedies
I used to live in a residence in the summers during University and one time I tried to fry chicken on the burner. It started smoking sooooo bad I set the fire alarms off and everyone had to evacuate the building. There were 100 kids living there but luckily only 30 were there at the time. The firemen came in the fire truck and I was so embrassed. The firemen told me not to try cooking again until I knew what I was doing. HORRIBLE.

Chicken Thighs Surprise
I did not care for this dish. I found it to be boring and not very tasty. The sauce was very runny and it didn't have much flavour.
