Made this for the big game day at our home. Changed it up a bit, used Turkey liver because it was on sale. No one knew the difference. I also made some with no water chestnuts, just liver and some with no livers just water chestnuts. That way everyone got what they liked. Distinguished them using different colored toothpicks. Made about 75 of them, had only 15 people over, and no leftovers!

Vodka Slush

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
My mother made this all the time back in the late 70's. My sister-in-law asks for it every year. It is wonderful! We change it up and use Rum instead of vodka and I brew my tea. Sometimes we just get a spoon and eat it straight out of the freezer without adding any carbonated lemon-lime soda! WARNING! This will give you a buzz really fast!

Abby's Cosmo

Love this recipe! I have made this several times. The last time I used raspberry vodka! Over the top raspberry flavor which I can't get enough of! Watch it as it will sneak up on you!

Chicken Liver Appetizers

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
This is our favorite appetizer. We usually marinate the wrapped little bundles in teriyaki sauce overnight before baking. My kids, who have eaten them all their lives, still don't know that there is liver in them (25 year old and 22 year old). Awesome!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
This was awesome! We had it for the St. Patty's weekend and it was a great change of pace. I took the leftovers and added teriyaki sauce before placing in the refrigerator. The next day, I warmed it up and served on Hawaiian bread rolls! YUMMY! And the flavor had changed so hubby didn't realize he was eating leftovers!

Used the Welch's white grape concentrate, one large jug Cran-raspberry drink, one 2 liter lemon-lime soda and raspberry sherbert. PERFECT! Everyone loved it!

One Two Three Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
We have been making these for years. Try using the spicy pork sausage with mexican blend shredded cheese. I also serve these with ranch dip "icing"! Never any left.

Egg and Hash Brown Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
This is my favorite "quickie" breakfast! I do change it up a bit. I add 1 cup of chopped spinach. I also take canned flaky biscuits and press them into muffin tins. Fill with the mixture and bake. When done, I let them cool, then package individually in quart freezer bags. Then I have breakfast muffins ready to go at a moments notice! YUMMY!!!!

Indiana-Style Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
I make this all the time. We don't add the mushrooms but we do add one can of diced tomatoes. My Grandmother taught me this recipe and called it German Cabbage. Never understood the name, but it is wonderful!

Garbage Can Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
Please do not use a galvanized garbage can. The zinc fumes are toxic. It will also seep into the turkey and thus you can get poisoned eating it. If you are using a galvanized garbage can, please burn the inside off first! Just don't inhale the fumes! We would hate to have someone in the hospital on Thanksgiving Day!
