About this Cook
Just a family of four. I have a teenager who really likes to eat healthy, but likes to bake goodies. I have a little one that doesn't like to eat meat or much else.
My favorite things to cook
Anything my family will eat. Simple things that don't take up too much of my time. Carnitas because I can throw it in the slow cooker, and change it up a little for couple of days. Tacos are always easy. Tri tip and pastas are good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The only tradition in my family was the saying, "Set the table and get out of the kitchen"!
My cooking triumphs
I finally conquered making tortillas and egg noodles, and making a gravy...I am still working on that one.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count! Especially in making tortillas! I can't believe how much food I have had to throw out, but I still keep trying because I am a picky eater. I don't like eating the same things often.

Slow Cooker Carnitas
This was very, very good. I want to make it all the time. I did as the other reviews suggested and doubled up on the spices except for the cinnamon. I also found that pan frying it afterwards really brought out the flavors in it. Will make it again.

Jean's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
This was the best chicken noodle soup I have ever had! Everyone loved it. I made it with the egg noodle recipe, and it turned out great. It was an effort, but very worth it.

Pan-Fried Asparagus
This is really good! I made it with the Chicken Cordon Bleu II receipe and it was so yummy. My kids loved it too.
