About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom that loves to try new recipes or come up with my own.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts hands down. It's just too bad I like to taste them as well
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making tamales with my mom and sister in AZ.
My cooking tragedies
Canning. I just recently tried canning and I ended up blowing the air vent off during the process. No one was hurt but the seals on the jars were blown off. None of the glass was broken, just my ego. Nevertheless, I haven't tried canning since.

Ramen Slaw
Liked the recipe. For more of an oriental flavor, I added 2 teaspoons of sesame oil to the vinegar/oil dressing. I also added the sunflower seeds about 30 min before serving. Will definitely make again.

Veggie Pizza
Delicious! I used the Dill Blend from Wildtree with a tsp of their Onion Chive blend. Perfect. I took the advice from another reviewer on cutting them before the spread was put on. GREAT Advice! Also fun for the kids to dress up their own piece. Got them to eat their veggies without the arguing.

Cabbage Rolls II
Great basic recipe to start with. Baked 1hr covered at 375 F. Came out wonderful. Added more spices to meat: rosemary, oregano, paprika, parsley, garlic powder and garlic salt (in lieu of salt) Added more spices to tomato sauce: oregano, salt, and pepper. Used other reviewers idea of blanching entire head of cabbage (after you core it) in boiling water. Worked great! Will definitely make again.
