Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
I cut the squash in half, left the peelings on: used red delicious apples (left their peelings on,for the color is so vibrant), and baked at 375 degrees like the other reviewer mentioned: covered for the first half and uncovered the second half. This is wonderful!!!!

Chocolate Zucchini Cake IV

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
I added a pinch of cardamon and substituted the vegetable oil for coconut oil as I was out of the former. I like that this recipe takes 2 or more cups of zucchini. This is such a tender and moist cake. Love the photo submitted. The next time I'll add some semi-sweet chocolate chips for added chocolate flavor. This recipe rocks, big time!!!!!

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
This turned out great but I think I'll stick to my angel food cake recipe from the Betty Crocker cookbook. The difference is the sugar content in the latter is about half of this one. If you are not watching your calories intake or for special occasions, when caution is thrown to the wind, this is the one.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Mine didn't turn out very good. The filling was so sticky, almost like glue. I probably did something wrong. I think I'll stick to Ann Landers recipe for lemon meringue pie from now on.

Picnic Baked Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
These were way too sweet. I added a few squirts of prepared yellow mustard and that helped offset the sweetness. Overall a good baked bean recipe.

Habanero Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This jelly is so good. I've made this twice and each time I came out with 6 and 1/2, half pints, instead of 8, as stated.

Pickled Watermelon Rinds

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I didn't want these to get too rubbery in texture so I didn't boil them as long as stated. I hope this makes no difference in the canning of them as to them staying viable in the jars for the duration. The jars did seal and I opened one up after two weeks. I was pleasantly surprised, these are delish! Beware these are addictive, but sooooo goood!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
Wonderful recipe! I sauted the veg's and added a yellow bell pepper to that and used olive oil. I left out the cheese, really didn't need it. Very flavorful. This is most definetly a keeper.

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
I like a little bit of ice crystal texture in my ice cream, not this heavy, creamy, too smooth texture. This helps me to eliminate ice cream recipes similar to this one. Thanks anyway.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I wanted to add milled flax seed to this and forgot so I spooned about a teaspoon on top of the batter (I made muffins)and this fooled the brain into thinking this was an added sweet crunch. Thanks so much for submitting this great recipe!

German Rye Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
I did a little test and after adding the liquid and flour to the sponge, I put half into the bread maker on dough setting and let it knead in there. The other half I worked by hand. I took the machine dough out after kneading, let them both rise on counter and finished in the oven. The half that was kneaded in the machine turned out much better than the one I did by hand. Anyway just a thought to make it easier. Oh I did substitute some of the white flour for bread flour and some whole wheat, and added vital wheat gluten. This is the best homemade rye bread I've eaten. Like the other reviewer said "You can stop looking, this is the one you need", and she is right. Thanks for submitting!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
The texture of these was just phenomenal! Very soft on the inside and a bit chewy on the outside. I thought I had a favorite cinnamon roll recipe but this has definitely replaced my old one. I did however think that the icing was too too sweet, so I think half or less would be fine, as the rolls alone are very sweet. Thanks for this great recipe!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Thick creamy and delicious! I didn't have any whole cloves so just put in a few spoonfuls of ground cloves. With the reviewers help this turned out so nice and spicy. I loved the garlic, cayenne ,and balsamic vinegar added also. Thanks for the solution to use up all these fresh tomatoes. I plan to freeze up batches of this .I hope it freezes ok. Absolutely love this soup! Thanks Charlotte!

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This turned out great, very smooth and rich. It is a tie as to which one is better this one or my old one, which I believe came off the cocoa box. If you're in the mood for no grain fudge this is it. If you like a bit more texture in fudge stick with the one that came off cocoa box. Just my opinion, anyway.

Cream Cheese Mints

I could not get these out of the candy molds that I put them in. They were very good though ,just rolled and cut and dried. Just a note, this recipe needs about a half teaspoon salt really brings out the flavors. Thanks

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
So this is how to make perfect lasagna! Why bother boiling the noodles, (I always did before), what a waste of time and extra cleanup , electricity and maybe even compromises the texture of the noodles and the flavor of the end product) I am so glad I came across this one. I added some grated swiss cheese also and it all came together wonderfully, taste was superb! It is the best I've ever eaten! I can't wait to serve this to my family and friends who are vegetarian! AWESOME recipe! Thanks for sharing this with everyone!
