Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Made this tonight. Letting the liver soak in the milk is the key. Wonderful! this recipe is so easy, you don't even need to save it. I cooked the liver approx. 3 mins. each side. I made a gravy with chicken broth, some fat from the pan and flour. I returned the liver to the pan with the gravy just before serving. I did both onions and bacon. Thanks for sharing.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I took another reviewer's advice and added 1 extra TBSP of cornstarch. that was 4 TBSP of Cornstarch. Turned out perfect. I think to make sure that it has gelled enough, make very early in the morning if serving for dinner. I did not refigerate it. Served at room temp. It is a keeper.

Pork Chops and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I made this for 1. Didn't have any o.j., so I used manderine juice. I couldn't find my caraway seeds, so I had to leave them out. Even without them, it was excellent!! Can't wait for the next pork chop. (I found my seeds). This is a keeper, and is easy to make. I used canned and drained sauerkraut.

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
made this tonight. Melt in your mouth, and full of flavour. I didn't have seseame oil, so in place I put Balsmic vinegar. I changed the honey to DaVinci's Hazelnut syrup. This one is a keeper. Thanks.

Italian Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
This is what I call an old standby. It is a no brainer. We love it. Ususally make it with less dressing (just enough to cover the meat). If making skewers, I also put the cut up veggies in the bag with the dressing. Cook and enjoy!!

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I have been looking for a good recipe for this kind of rice. Excellent. The only change I would make is to substitute some tomatoe juice for the liquid, otherwise, leave it alone. Carol

Peach Cobbler III

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I reduced water and sugar as was suggested. I think putting it in an 8x8 would be better. Will try this next time.

Beer-Batter Onion Rings

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Wonderful. Light, and fluffy. It is a keeper. My only suggestion would be to alter the recipe so that the flour used for dregging is listed 1st, then the rest for the batter. For a new cook, it could be confusing. Thanks

Greek Style Garlic Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
This was excellent. Being Canadian I did change one ingredient. I used P.C. Roast Chicken Spice. I reduced the oil, as well. After marinating, I put each piece of chicken into a tin foil envelope. Cooked chicken legs 15 mins. each side, then put them on the grill to finish with some of the marinade. Wonderful! My husband said "Just like in the restaurant" Thanks.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
Made this last night. A Keeper!! Would suggest increasing the gravy, it was wonderful. Next time I will make double and freeze half (we are only 2 people) in boilable freezer bags, so when I am pressed for time, pull out and enjoy!! Add mushrooms if you like, but we loved it just the way the receipe reads.

Asian Ground Beef and Pepper Saute

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
Made this last night. It is a keeper. Took some advice and added a bit of flour to the beef. Used brown basmati rice as that what I had on hand. Very good dish for the fall.
