Cheddary Artichoke Snacks

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Exactly followed the recipe and the dish was alright, the flavors were interesting, but not quite right for me. I think I'll likely make it again, but next time will be fresh grated parmesan and finely diced red peppers plus some fresh red peppers. We tried it both with French bread and sour dough, the sour dough was easier to use (more surface area), but both were attractive. :) Thanks for the recipe!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
5 stars for easy, 4 for flavor. Made it tonight with fish and Asparagus Parmesan and together was a great easy meal, filling but light. Will definitely make again!

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
I've been told there's 2 kinds of General Tsao's, apparently this is not the one I'm familiar with. I did not enjoy it at all. I tried to follow the recipe, but it was much too spicy for my liking (my DH enjoyed it) but the sauce tasted off and unpleasant. I'm glad others are enjoying it more, perhaps a recipe better to my liking will be posted later. Thanks!

Braised Rabbit

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This was very good and I've never cooked rabbit before... I followed the directions exactly, and it was great! I think my rabbit was done about 5 min sooner than expected, but everything tasted very good. The gravy was quite perfect over mashed potatoes and I'll probably try this recipe again with chicken (we never eat rabbit!). Next time will serve w/ a salad and mashed potatoes. Thanks Dawn!

Olive Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
Everyone really enjoyed this! I made it following the recipe and even the non-olive fans ate it up! I'll certainly be making it again, but will essentially eliminate the butter and get more bread. We had almost 2x the spread for our bread. :) Yum!

Summer Fruit Galettes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was easy, went together quickly, with a short bake-time! I would not use strawberries again in this, I think baking them is such a waste of fresh berries! Also, we used less than half the sugar called for and found it to be sweet enough. Looked very pretty and will serve with ice cream next time!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
I have to admit I did a couple changes, but it turned out so tasty! :D I added to the seasonings: salt, pepper & cinnamon-sugar. I also microwaved the slices (~5 min) to give them a head-start on baking, before the oil & seasoning step. Will make many, many more times!

Grape Banana Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
We made this for our brunch tonight and it was tasty. The salad went together quickly and was nice and light. If/When I make again, I'll toss in a few sliced strawberries. Yum.

Christmas Morning Frittata

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
We made this tonight and it went over very well! We made a few alterations (mozzarella cheese w/ sun-dried tomatoes & basil) (an additional egg) (4 slices of bacon, crumbled). The baking time and serving size estimate were accurate. The bread crumbs helped to beef it up. My husband was very complimentary and we will definitely make it again!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
This was fabulous! I did a few modifications to speed it up and make it to our taste. We'll definitely be making this again! Modifications: thinly sliced; microwaved for 3 minutes; brushed with olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper & a touch of cinnamon sugar; baked on broiling pan 30 minutes. Delicious!

Angel Hair with Feta and Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This recipe is so light and flavorful! I made it last year with the wrong kind of sun-dried tomatoes and hated it, actually. This week I made it (without remembering I had before) and used the sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil. It made all the difference in the world. Will make many more times!

Sweet 'n' Hot Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
This came out perfect! I would not change a thing... Mmm, and the apricot was great! We served it with an arugula salad, cajun potatoes and a fruity dessert, it came together very well.

Feta Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
For such an easy twist on eggs, it turned out so great! I'm ashamed I never thought of feta and tomatoes with egg before. I'm definitely keeping this one on hand to mix it up and to show it off to Mom! :D

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Fabulous! Very tasty, incredibly easy and inexpensive! I love that I can use a pork butt cut instead of the ribs. Mmm! Will make again.

Salmon with Mango and Brie

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This one's pretty good. The salmon, brie & mango flavors combined very well together. I think it needed a lot more seasoning added, though I'm not sure what would be best. The mango sauce was fabulous though, I enjoyed that by itself! Went great with asparagus.

Chocolate Chunk-Cinnamon Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This coffee cake was good, certainly not moist, it's quite filling, but very tasty! The cake went well with milk or coffee and I think next time I'll cut down on the chocolate - it got to be quite rich for me. Others loved it. Oh, and for anyone making this, please mix the chocolates & nuts in one bowl and the cinnamon & sugar in a different one. I tried following the recipe and ended up using a sifter to separate them so they could be spread equally. Will make again.

Apricot Nectar Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
I made 2 of these this weekend and received rave reviews! Both came together very easily and was great to use up the apricot nectar! I did one in a bundt pan (baking time was right on) with diced dried apricot bits (rehydrated: poured very hot water over them, let them sit for 5 minutes, drained) folded into the batter. The other was following the recipe but in a 9x13" (baking time ~40 minutes). Both were great, but the general consensus was the cake with apricot bits was better... Oh, and they were plenty sweet and moist without the glaze, so I just sprinkled a bit of powdered sugar over top.

Sunday Brunch Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
This was a good dish, but not what I was expecting. It came out as a hearty, filling breakfast. Next time I'll sprinkle some herbs over top for color. I used half and half to save a few calories and it tasted very creamy still! One Tip: tear each cheese piece into 3 pieces and form a triangle. Then crack the egg into the middle of the triangle. It helps nestle the egg in place and prevents shifting.

Almond-Topped Spiced Peaches

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
We followed this recipe exactly and it turned out great. I never would have guessed that the cream was sour cream! It just tasted like a fresh whipped cream and the curry flavoring was so subtle. Very good and we'll certainly make it again!

McCormick's Dilly Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
4.5 stars I really liked this for the variety and the different flavors it brings out. It's easy and quick to make (just have large bowl!) and kept pretty well for our outdoor activities. I'll make again. Everyone enjoyed something different.
