Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
5 Stars! So easy and so tasty! Made a triple batch and was glad I did! There's a kick to them, so children might not like, but my whole dinner party loved them (and some are not good with spicy)! Bake time of 20 minutes was perfect. I used 2 parts ground turkey & 1 part spicy Italian sausage. Egg instead of milk. Thanks so much LTH!

Almond Croissants

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
Yum! These croissants were delicious! Never made croissants before, so the results were phenomenal. I made a double batch and followed other reviewers suggestions: food processor to cut in the butter, spread the filling and THEN cut into 8 wedges. New suggestion: warm the filling in the microwave for 1 min at 40% power, it's much easier to spread. The dough was refrigerated 8 hours, and there was nothing to punch down... I was worried, but because of the pea-sized butter clumps in the dough, it turned out great! Personal note: 15 minutes at 340F.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Delicious and intense! Thank you Tracie! I used butter rather than margarine. I struggled to tell when it was baked though, but it tasted great! Got many compliments on it!

No-Fuss Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Yum... I scaled this to 10 servings and used whole eggs with 2% milk. I plumped the raisins in juice beforehand. It's quite tasty and gives the soothing homey feeling I wanted! Scaling it up to 10 servings, it needed ~30 minutes in the microwave, some of it at full power. This was my first time making rice pudding and I was pleased that it was so simple. Thanks Sheila!

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
Delicious! I used 1 t. vanilla, 1 t. almond extract. I baked them in (2) 8"x4" loaf pans at 300F for 65 minutes. I added foil in the last 15 minutes, after the edges started browning. Unfortunately, the crust never browned up the way I wanted. But it tasted so good! Served with "Simple Strawberry Sauce" and whipped cream. Thanks Jean!

Simple Strawberry Sauce

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
Tasted great and very easy. Don't know about the proportions, but I had 1 lb strawberries and it needed ~1/4 c. sugar. Served over "Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake" with whipped cream. Thanks Bluegirl!

Make-Ahead Baked Egg Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
Made these for my DH last week. He said they reheated pretty well. They reheated in ~3 minutes. I used sour dough English muffins & sharp cheddar cheese. I scaled it to 4 sandwiches: 8 eggs in an 8x8" pan with diced peppers and onions. They baked in ~18 minutes. I've got 2 left and will make some more... Thanks Dee!

Brown Sugar Glazed Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This is how I prepare the meatloaf as well (modified from the initial recipe). I've enjoyed it every time and company loves it. We also enjoy substituting ground turkey or buffalo meat in place of the ground beef. Thanks Angel!

Vegetarian Korma

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Yakuta, you are phenomenal! I loved this recipe! We followed it with one substitution (diluted tomato paste in place of the tomato sauce) and it was delicious! I highly recommend this recipe, no alterations. We served it over "Indian-Style Rice with Cashews, Raisins and Turmeric" with Naan and "Mango Lassi II." Delicious!

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
This breading is VERY forgiving, we turned old garlic bread into bread crumbs and added some cayenne as we felt necessary. We used a 1:1 ratio of mayo:milk. It turned out great. The oven rack kept it crispy on the bottom. We'll be sure to use this recipe again. Thanks!

I doubled the recipe and used a 2 lb bag frozen meatballs. This turned out great! It was a hit and we'll certainly make it again. Thanks Lara!

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I followed the recipe fairly closely and really enjoyed it. I would recommend cooking and serving the bacon separately. Also, up the seasonings! The cook time was a little on the short side. I cooked mine for 9 hours and the potatoes were firmer than we'd prefer. Tasty, but it wouldn't hurt to cook on high for a bit. Thanks Rozanrenee!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Wow, this was delicious! Thanks souporsweets! We substituted kale for the spinach and nearly quadrupled it. This turned out fantastic! Our friends said it was better than OG's soup because it had the bacon added. Never tried OG's soup and now I don't need to! :) Loved how I could cook the meat, onion and garlic ahead of time and slice the potatoes the night before. It makes it very easy to serve for company! Serve with a great salad and some bread and you've got yourself a winner! :D

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This was delicious and so simple! The flavors really emphasized the moist pork and refreshing cranberry sauce. Whole berry sauce is important for texture! Just before serving, I'd recommend slicing the pork and then adding an additional can of cranberry sauce (warmed on the stove) either drizzled over top or tossed like a glaze. This was delicious, tasty and beautiful! We served it with Orange Glazed Carrots and Simple Baked Apples and they really complemented each other! Thanks Kimberley

Orange Glazed Carrots (Steamed)

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This was a very tasty side and quite simple to prepare. We used Ziploc Steam bags (1 lb = 6 min, 2 lb = 12 min) and prepared the sauce separately. Added 1/2 t. cinnamon and 1 t. corn starch to help it set up. After the carrots were done, just drizzled the sauce over top! I'd add some fresh cracked pepper next time. We'll make it again, thanks Heidi!

This was delicious! I love the adaption and it's so easy to prep ahead of time! We used cranberry juice and increased the berries and nuts to personal taste. Home run! Served with the Cranberry Pork Roast and Orange Glazed Carrots. I'd highly recommend this recipe and serving with the pork and carrots. Thanks katier185!

'Day Before Payday' Kielbasa and Potato Hash

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Easy, tasty and so nice to have all the ingredients on hand. I decided to omit the corn and eggs as it already made ~6 servings. I used 4 red potatoes and 1 sweet potato (a must!) and put them in ~10 minutes early to allow them to cook through. I used 2 fresh bell peppers and 1 1/2 onions. MMmmm! This will become a staple! :)
