I'm 20 years old and am just attempting to learn new things to cook my boy. I like stuff that's fast and easy so I can make it quick after a busy day bartendind. I've cooked since I was young(er) but am just now beginning to add my own flair to things.
My favorite things to cook
I really like making lemon rosemary chicken, orange peel chicken, super fresh salads, and potato soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think the best cooking traditions my family has ever cranked out have been veggie lasagna and a funky recipe for potato salad. They're both very add to taste recipes though, so it would be very hard for me to ever share them on here.
My cooking triumphs
I suppose my biggest triumph in cooking to date has just been making stuff my boyfriend likes. Picky boy.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't really had any obstacles to overcome in my cooking. I try hard and generally do very well. I am the one creating Thanksgiving dinner for my family for the first time so we'll see how that turns out.

Curried Chicken and Rice Salad
I thought that the finished product of this was awesome, but being a add-it-yourself type of girl I had a few of my own touches I threw in 1) cayenne as previous members had said, to give it a tad of heat 2) I added frozen green peas, really just to get rid of the rest of the bag 3) I chunked in some flax seeds for more CRUNCH 4) Tossed in some coriander seeds for that delicious flavour & 5)I switched out quinoa instead of rice for the added nutrition

Carne Con Chilies
I found this to be a very good recipe but the previous chile con carne that I have had was RED and left your nose dripping with every bite (I know, ew)... So I added about6-7 more red chiles and an extra jalapeno, not seeded, and a chipotle pepper. Excellent recipe.

Maple Dill Carrots
Oh my, for having a super sweet tooth today this was just what the doctor ordered... I wasn't expecting them to taste this good (not saying the recipe didn't look good, I just wanted to try out my new veggie steamer) but they were AMAZING! Kudos for this one.
