Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2013
Best. Pie. Ever. I made this using Grandma's secret pie crust from allrecipes.com, left out the butter, and did a regular crust on top. I will never consider buying blueberry pie out ever again.

Thanks for the recipe - this is my goto chocolate cookie recipe. I followed the recipe as written (forgot the powdered sugar!!) and they came out great. Bonus points - boyfriend gave them the thumbs up.

Cider Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I have found my cheese fondue recipe. Next time I will add more cider, as it was a little too thick for me. I dipped French bread cubes and green apple slices. Planning on some sausage and dense pretzel rods next time. Made it for two, there was very little left.

Savory Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
This soup is perfect for me. Its a pumpkin bisque soup, and just what I need to have a side for lunch at work. Preparation is minimal, and it mixes up in one pot, so I'm pleased with the ROI. I love pumpkin, so the taste is fine for me the way it is. I substituted minced garlic from a jar instead of the garlic powder. I omitted the pasta (I try to avoid carbs) and am most pleased with the results. I may increase the pumpkin pie spice next time, and the cilantro. Thank you for this recipe - its going into the rotation!!

Tomato Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
Awesome soup. So easy and exactly what I was looking for, great flavor. I added a couple of cloves of minced garlic (because I always add garlic to tomatoes) and some salt and pepper. Instead of the margarine I used a couple of tablespoons of Olive Oil. Hint -- I heated the cream in a small pot, kept checking the temp, and when it was a little higher than body temperature I added and stirred in the tomato mix by big spoonfuls to finish bringing it up to temperature. No curdling at all. As as South Beach dieter I plan to make this a staple, so I hope get the same results again. Thanks so much for this recipe, its a winner in my book.

Phenomenal recipe. Hands down, the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. Soooo easy, and I always go home with an empty casserole dish.

Homemade Pancake Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Excellent homemade pancake mix, very user friendly. Just tried the first batch, followed the directions exactly (always do that the first time and modify later). Cooked easy and end product texture was very good. Next time I'm going to try buttermilk instead of plain milk. Side note - I think part of the difficult we have w/recipes at times is that we can't get, "real," food anymore. For example, I used whole milk that is pasteurized but not homogenized, and I'm pretty sure that positively affected the results.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
I never made gnocchi before, and I'm not a "practiced cook". This came out spectacular. Like someone else said- its got to stick to itself more than your hands. I added flour to this until it was "rollable". I tossed it with a little virgin olive oil and salt and it was great. I think next time I'll try adding some additional flavoring to it, maybe cinnamon, brown sugar, etc. I think anything you'd add to a sweet potato recipe would work well with this recipe. Thanks so much for providing it!!
