One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
I followed this recipe to the letter -- I did use two 8 x 8 pans because I was using my 9 x 13 for shephard's pie --- They were very rich, chocolaty and satisfying. Sometimes when I make "box" brownies, I want to eat the whole pan -- I had two small brownies of this recipe and was done. Delicious!

Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
I wish I had followed some of the reviewers tips by using butter instead of shortening. They also needed more flavor -- maybe the vanilla would have helped, but I think the butter might do the trick. Nice texture though - very pretty snickerdoodles.

Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
Very good and very easy. I added LOTS of cinnamon because I LOVE cinnamon, about a cup of raisins, and about 1/2 cup of molasses. My 2 picked teens ate one each for an after dinner snack.

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
I just made this recipes for an "Oktoberfest" pot luck we're going to tonight... I quadrupled it and it tastes delicious. I actually put it in a crock pot so it stays warm. yummm OK.. the recipe was a HIT! I used red skinned potatoes and kept the skins on. I think I MIGHT reduce the sugar just a bit next time. It was delicious. Got recipe request. The crock pot idea worked great... it stayed hot for the whole part, but didn't turn to mush. A big Hit indeed!

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
This recipe was VERY EASY and VERY GOOD. I browned the pork chops early in the morning, threw them in the crop pot and started my day. I did somehow miss the step of dregding in flour, but I don't think it impacted the final product much. I found it easier to dump the crock contents into a sauce pan and thicken the sauce there. The Sour Cream had me a little nervous for a bit because it looked a little chunky for a while, but at it cooked, it smoothed out nicely. I might thicken it a bit next time. My family liked it... my EXTREMELY PICKY 9 year old daughter even tried the sauce and liked it. This recipe is a keeper... easy, fast and good.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
Very good basic beef stew. I floured and seasoned the meet as many reviewers indicated. Was a little heavy handed deglazing with Shiraz which made the stew nice and rich. I used beef broth as my liquid.

The family loved it! I cooked much longer than called for and then broiled the top. Otherwise, I made the recipe as described. Very easy.

this recipe is easy and delicious. Made it exactly as described and it was so good. I did cook it for 45 minutes instead of 30 though. Also, made some chicken thighs too --- they came out fine.
