Came out too bland. Will have to retry with more/different spices.

Mushroom Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
Too much filling for the puff pastry, but could be just right for a pie pan. Adding some other veggies would make this a well-rounded meal. Let the cream (or whatever substitute) cook down before taking off the heat.

Kentucky Biscuits

Solid recipe - I make this on a regular basis. Came out nice and flaky. Didn't knead a full two minutes at the suggestion of other reviewers. Only kneaded until the dough held together.

Gingerbread Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
Had to add 1 1/4 cup flour to make the dough stiff enough. Also chilled it for an hour. Decent cookies but not my favorite.

Easy and delicious! Perfect thing to hit the spot. Added a little chili powder and vinegar like the reviews said.

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
There is too much evaporated milk, resulting in way too much filling for a 9-inch deep dish crust. It also made it very watery and took much longer to cook than the recipe says. This may have something to do with my oven too. Next time, I would decrease the milk. The crust burned as well due to the extra time in the oven. Another reviewer suggests putting foil on the crust for part of the time, to prevent burning.

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I had to double the seasonings to have enough to cover the chicken. I also used chicken thighs which are more moist but fatty, but that's up to your preference. I'm not sure if my pieces were just too big but I needed about 20 minutes in the oven for the chicken to cook through.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Nice easy recipe for when you don't want to cook. Very creamy. I thought there was quite a lot of sauce, but the gravy would be good with mashed potatoes or something else.

A little sweet but pretty good. Was a hit with the family. Couldn't find cinnamon so left that out of the recipe, but will put it in next time.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
I used 1/2c of white chocolate chips and 1/2c of chopped macadamias, which was the perfect portions for me. This is a naturally rich and creamy cookie with the white chocolate and all, but I wouldn't try to change it.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
First time making Sangria. Was a hit at dinner. Doubled the recipe for 6 people and ran out halfway through. Should at least triple if you have some sangria lovers / heavy drinkers. Used half the brandy, and 3/4 of ginger ale (instead of carbonated water) called for. No lemon juice, used more frozen lemonade instead. No sugar.
