Heather's Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Amazing. We had freshly caught salmon from Lake Michigan, with the skin still on one side. I grilled by placing the filet, skin-side down, on pieces of aluminum foil, and cooked on low for about 10 minutes, until the fish began to flake, while basting with leftover marinade. The marinade was absolutely amazing. Just a big sweet, but rich and tangy. Will definitely make again, and might try with chicken. One note, we didn't have lemon pepper, so replaced with lemon juice.

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
It's the middle of winter in Wisconsin, so I opted to bake instead of grill. Seasoned and basted with honey, baked in the oven 40 minutes, flipping the wings halfway and basting with more honey. I mixed up the sauce and spread some on the wings and popped them back in the oven for about 5 minutes. Delicious!

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Amazing! And very simple to make. My boyfriend and I use this recipe when he's making dinner. He's followed directions to a tee, twice -- and it's turned out excellent both times. We warm up some fresh Italian bread from the store as a side.

Low Sugar Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Gave 4 stars because of the changes. I halved the fruit (2 cups rhubarb, 1/2 pint strawberries) and baked in a 9x9 dish. I followed other recommendations and added 1T cornstarch and 1t lemon juice to the fruit mixture. Delicious!

Black Beans and Rice

Made this dish to pass for a Mexican-style pot luck with friends. Super easy to make, and got a lot of compliments on the flavor.

Mushroom Sauce Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Delicious! I substituted olive oil for the butter when frying the pork chops. Added Lawry's season salt to the chops and only used one onion. Everything else made per the recipe. The potatoes tasted just like my mom's homemade scallop potatoes. Will definitely make again.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Very filling, and tasty. Made a few changes: Instead of chopping whole tomatoes, bought a 14.5-oz. can of diced tomatoes with chilies (gave it an extra kick). Added some Italian seasoning, garlic powder and oregano in addition to the other spices to the meat/onion mixture. Also used a 6 oz. can of tomato sauce instead of tomato soup and water. Will definitely make again.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Awesome flavor. Only change I made was using light mayo instead. Tastes just like restaurant-style honey mustard sauce. We make extra to eat with the meal too.

Belle and Chron's Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
My first attempt at making quiche, and it turned out great! Few changes I made: -I couldn't find a deep dish 9" pie crust, so I filled two regular 9" crusts. -Used regular 2% milk instead of light cream. -Sauteed the mushrooms and onions for a couple minutes with the leftover bacon grease. I baked the pies separately to avoid uneven cooking. I will definitely use this recipe again.
