Scrumptious Baked Buttermilk Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
These were really good. I bought the donut pan just so I could make them. I think I'd add a bit more cinnamon (I used it instead of nutmeg, not a fan) and bake for about 2 minutes more.

Body Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2014
I just made this and I love it! I bought 5 different essential oils so I could make gifts and this recipe is just wonderful. It is a bit greasy at the first but it soaks in and makes your skin so soft. I have a terrible time with dry cracking legs and hands. I rubbed some of this on them right after making it and I can tell my skin was so hungry for moisture, it just soaked it right up! Thanks manella for a great "recipe" :)

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
What a neat recipe when we were wanting some good hot chocolate. I thought it was a bit too sweet so will reduce the sugar to 1/2 cup next time but otherwise follow the recipe. The thickness and chocolate flavor were spot on and I'll be making this again when the hankering hits!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
A lot of work for these and they were just ok. Kinda slimey on the bottom which I didn't care for. I did follow the directions exactly except making 9 6" tortillas. Not sure I'd go to all the trouble for this again.

Pretty good stuff if in a pinch but somehow, I like the canned better.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
Very tasty. I used 2% Velveeta for the american cheese. I also added about 2 cups of real crab and about 1/4 up of cooked bacon pieces. Be sure not to use too much salt when adding because the cheese is pretty salty too. I'd make this again.

My husband LOVED this. Perfect consistency. I, too, made my own graham cracker crust and baked for 20 minutes. Perfectly textured.

I think it was a just too much cinnamon so next time would reduce it by half.

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
Oh my goodness, these are the bomb! I followed the directions exactly and they fried up so golden brown and crunchy with the soft cheeses inside. No oozing as other recipes. We dipped ours in raspberry jam and even my picky hubby said not to mess with this recipe, that I could make them again for sure! Now that's high praise!

Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
Another excellent recipe from Chef John. I followed the directions except for cutting with a biscuit cutter, I used my food processor and pulsed about 10 times. I rolled it out and just cut into 12 rectangles, no waste, no re-rolling. 15 minutes was perfect and they were crunchy on the outside, flaky goodness on the inside.

I make this with the Knoor Vegetable Dip mix but the rest is the same. We enjoy this very much.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2013
Very good. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and baked in a 5x7 loaf pan. It took quite a bit longer to get done (no fault for the recipe). It was just a little too moist for us and only got worse, almost, just almost soupy after 2 days. I'll move on to another apple cake.

This was just ok in my book. I probably won't be making this again, it just wasn't what we really like.

Perfect ratio on the mayo & eggs. I had all my top teeth pulled out on yesterday and got a denture on it so I needed something soft and this is perfect!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
Excellent bread. I had 1 cup of leftover frozen pumpkin and found this recipe. I cut it down to 12 servings (1 loaf) and added chopped walnuts. I also used my homemade pumpkin pie spice (1 1/2 tsp) so it's just perfect. Thanks Cheryl for this yummy recipe to use my 1 cup of pumpkin :)
