Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2014
I needed to dress up a pasta salad that I'd made from the box so I made a 1/2 recipe of this dressing and used it.. it was very, very good. I'd make this again for sure. I like the creaminess of this better than an oil & vinegar based dressing.

Marinated Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2014
These just didn't work out for me. All I tasted was vinegar. The mushrooms were rubbery.

Butter Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2014
I put this in the crockpot early with some stir fry meat I got on the cheap at the commissary. About 2 hours before it was done I added 8 oz of sliced mushrooms. I did need to add some salt at the end but this was really good. My so picky husband said I could do this again. I served over rice. So simple with 3 ingredients (4 if you add mushrooms) and delicious.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
I followed the recipe to a T except used 1 lb of ground beef and 20oz of sweet italian sausage. Other than that, great sauce and it made a whole lot of sauce. I made one huge lasagna and have enough sauce left over for either a good ziti casserole or spaghetti. I like how it sets up perfect for cutting pieces. The taste is fantastic too. Made 5 meals for 2... so 10 very nice servings.

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: May 12, 2014
There was something off about this, although I followed the recipe exactly. I think it was the ginger powder (ground ginger). Next time I'll put in some fresh ginger instead of the powder. If I make it again for my rib-eyes, then I'll edit this with the results.

Chef John's Quiche Lorraine

Reviewed: May 1, 2014
This was a lot of work for a gooey, not quite set quiche. The only change I made was using swiss cheese but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I guess I like my quiche a little more firm so I'll go back to my regular recipe. Sorry, Chef John, I've loved all your other recipes, just not this one.

Minute Steaks with Barbeque Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
We really enjoyed this. Easy and fast! I used a bit of worcestershire sauce with the gravy recipe and it was perfect. I'd make this again in a minute, literally :) Thanks for another winner Chef John.

Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2014
These are delicious. I used my bread machine for the 1st 1/2 hour, took the dough out after 1/2 hour and spread it out, put the butter/sugar/cinnamon inside and then placed in pan, let rise 1/2 hour. Quick and very good tasting. I'll make these again for sure.

Egg and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
I used ham in mine and used the fresh hashbrowns. I really liked the way the potatoes cooked and then adding the eggs, cheese, milk and green onions with the ham. I'll make this again with left over raw hashbrowns.

Cherry Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
These were delicious. A bit too sweet for me but they were a hit at the BBQ. I didn't have cherry pie filling so I made my own pineapple pie filling from a recipe here on AR. Then followed the rest of the recipe. Very tasty and easy to make. I only had 4 hours to let it sit in the fridge but I think they were just fine. I did have to bake them for 50 minutes to get the crispy golden crust. I'd make these again.

Bob's Pineapple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
I made the filling to go into another recipe and it's so delicious. Can't wait for the pineapple enchiladas to be eaten at a BBQ today. I think they will be a hit. I had some of the left over filling and just ate it with a spoon, heavenly. I did add the zest of one orange and I thought it added to the overall flavor. It certainly stands as written though.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2014
These were excellent with a couple changes. I brought to a ROLLING boil and boiled for 2 minutes. I had old fashioned oats and put them in the food processor. After pouring the 3 cups in I could see that it needed a whole lot more oats to be thick enough to form cookies. I added at least 1 more cup of oats and they were perfect. Even my picky husband liked these. So easy to make and good for breakfast this morning. An easy way to eat your "oatmeal". haha.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Let me add my 5 star rating! Wow, easy peasy banana bread and it tastes fantastic. Followed the recipe exactly and it came out of the oven smelling so good. I used a silicon loaf pan which came out perfect. Great with some butter. I'll definitely make this again when I have 2 overly ripe bananas.

Overnight Caramel Pecan Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
This dough is the best cinnamon rolls that I've ever made, and I've made a few. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and followed the recipe exactly. For 1/2 egg, I put an egg in a bowl, whipped it up and then used 1/2 of it. The dough is better than Clone of a Cinnabon in my opinion. I used the breadmaker and put all the liquids in first except the yeast mixture. I let it go in the dough cycle and it was perfect. Let me just say, I'll be making these again and again for those special mornings on the weekend.

Tracy Ann's Favorite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
This had WAY too much garlic for us. I should have known when I was adding it but my hubby couldn't even eat it, and I ate 2 pieces only.. I'd make it again only using 1 tsp of garlic, not 2 tblsp.

Chef John's Lemon Bars

These are absolutely fantastic!! Just the perfect ratio of the crust and the lemon filling. I made a batch 2 days ago, hubby told me I need to make another batch today. Best part, I had free lemons from a co-worker.. made this even better!
