Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Pretty tasty although I think the garlic powder was a tad bit overwhelming. Next time I'd cut back on that and maybe add some more herbs. The bread was soft went great with our spagetti :)

Wedding Gift Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Excellent sauce. I thought it might be too watery but once it simmered for about 5 hours on low it was a perfect sauce. The flavors were spot on, although I only used a slight pinch of rosemary as I don't really care for that flavor. I added some dried basil too. I liked the flavor of the italian sausage in here since I've only ever used straight ground beef. Thanks Dog Fish for posting your recipe!

Harvest Pumpkin Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
These were excellent. It made 28 cupcakes for me with perfectly rounded tops so that I could pipe the frosting on. Great spicey flavor even without the frosting. I'd make these again in a heart beat! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This is yummy. I did use 3 cups of powdered sugar to make a bit stiffer so I could pipe the frosting on my pumpkin cupcakes. Just perfect taste, consistancy and pipability!!!

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
This was soooo good on some chocolate cupcakes. It was too stiff so I had to add about 2-3 T more of cream. It was perfect though so I'll make it again many times!

Ranch Ham Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
Perfect ratios of the cream cheese to the ranch packet. I also added about 1/3 cup of mayonaise to that mixture before adding in the green onions. I also put some thin spears of dill pickle inside and they were the hit of a party I took them to. The dill pickle just made them!

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
This was a little too oniony for us, next time I'll reduce in 1/2. Otherwise this is a very nice soup and easy to make. I don't have an immersion blender so I ust used my potato masher. This left bits of potato which was perfect. Thanks for this nice soup recipe.

Queso Blanco (Mexican White Cheese)

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Wow, now this is AWESOME!!! I've been wanting to make a good white cheese dip and this is perfect. I used 12 oz of sliced american white cheese (Walmart brand) and just unwrapped each one and cut the stack into strips. Added the shredded montery jack and used about 1/2 cup of 1/2 & 1/2. Perfect consistancy and the cheese is mild with just a hint of spice. I LOVE THIS RECIPE and will make it again and again.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Excellent recipe although I had to bake it an additional 8-10 minutes to get a clean toothpick. The glaze melted into the cake perfectly and made for a very moist, buttery flavored cake. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was a hit at our BBQ. Thanks!!

Pineapple Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
I cut the recipe by 2/3's and used one 20 oz can of crushed pineapple and then just added a bit extra of the other ingredients. I had to bake it for about 5 extra minutes to get the top a little crispier and it turned out very nice. We were having grilled burgers and fries, wanted another little side dish. Very good.

Big Germans

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
I've been making this for years. In fact, I have a printed recipe from here from 2000 that had to be scaled down to use 6 eggs. The directions are exactly the same wording but the ingredients are not the same. Interesting but still a fabulous breakfast treat. We always eat it with maple syrup.

Jacky's Fruit and Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
Well, first, mine didn't look anything like the picture but the taste is fantastic! I didn't have straight blueberries but had the triple berry mix from Sam's. I should have chopped the larger berries so next time I'll do that. The color turned a bit green looking so I wouldn't serve them to anyone else (looked a bit like moldy bread). I used vanilla lowfat yogurt (what I had on hand) and then followed the rest of the directions. They really puffed up and spilled over the tops of the muffin papers but it still was very good flavor. I'll be making these again.

Mississippi Mud Cake IV

This was extremely sweet, in fact, too sweet for me. But, I took it to a potluck and everyone else seemed to like it, hence the 4 star review.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

I used a whole jar of 12 oz peppers and it was very good when it was cold. I heated it up in a small crockpot for a party and it looked like really gross cat &^&%.. sorry.. but it was great when it was cold!!

Peppery Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
RECIPE GROUP -- I brought all the ingredients to room temperature and I did cube 1 1/2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese. Not sure about the directions to devide in 1/2, but I just plopped the whole thing into a sprayed silicone bread pan. Let raise for about 1 hour and then baked. Yummy pockets of cheese and no kneading! The yeast was perftect in this bread. Thanks for the Recipe Sue!

Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
This was excellent. I had some cheese/beef hot dogs to use up so I made this. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and it made plenty for the 2 of us with some good leftovers! I left out the italian seasoning (hubs doesn't care for that flavor) and just salt & peppered to taste. The broth/wine mixture was a great addition, something new to add to my recipe box. I think it would be great from breakfast with some scrambled eggs. Thanks for the great recipe.

Best Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
I've made a LOT of bread puddings and this one is my favorite. I did use 3/4 cup of 1/2 & 1/2 and the 2 1/4 cups of skim milk but otherwise followed the recipe. I didn't make the sauce since my picky hubby doesn't like "sauce" on his bread pudding. Anyway, it was the perfect way to use up some old hamburger/hotdog buns! The 1/2 tsp of cinnamon was absolutely perfect, just a hint of cinnimonny flavor (if that's a word!). We love it cold from the fridge. This is now my go-to recipe for bread pudding! Thanks Gail for the great recipe.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
This makes a HUGE amount so I would recommend cutting it in 1/2 the first time just to make sure you like the flavor. I made the whole batch and took to a potluck. Everyone seemed to enjoy it but there was way too much left over. I'm not sure about the asiago cheese, I think I'd use something milder (if I ever make it again) like mozzerella or gouda. Also, the color is pretty dark because of the vinegar. All in all, I probably won't make it again.
