Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
We really enjoyed this as did all the people at the party we went to! I did do this in the crockpot (after mixing all the ingredients with an electric hand mixer). I did use 1 whole package of mild taco mix and it was NOT TOO MUCH!!! Thanks for this great dip recipe J. Van Liere.

Most Excellent Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
I really liked this. I halved the recipe and used 1 pound of bacon. I buttered the casserole dish and that made it easy to remove. I had no problem with wetness. It does have a soggy texture but that's what it's supposed to be like. I loved the flavor of the american cheese, different than shredded cheddar. I did only use about 1 small vidalia onion cooked with the bacon. I think the 1 1/2 would have been too much.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: May 11, 2012
This made excellent cupcakes. The recipe made 28 cupcakes and I baked them for 20 minutes exactly. Let sit in the cupcake tins for about 10 minutes and then removed to a baking rack to cool completely. Frosted with the Peanut Butter Frosting from AR and they were a hit at a work potluck! Thanks so much for posting this easy, delicious recipe.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
Wow, what a great recipe norah! Thank you so much for posting. I followed it except for just a couple things. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and it made plenty for 3 healthy servings. I didn't use fresh garlic, instead adding some garlic powder. I also added about 1 tsp of beef base to the gravy and it put it over the top! I like making the batter with all the seasonings in it and then just the plain flour. The flavor was fabulous, the texture perfect and I'll be making this inexpensive dinner again very soon!

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
This is very similar to the other Shrimp & Crab Bisque on AR. I've made both and can't tell the difference. All to say that I think the 1/2 cup wine is too much, I did use only about 1/3 cup of white wine and it gave a perfect flavor. We enjoyed this with some toasted french bread and both of us thought it was great!!

Slider-Style Mini Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
My picky hubby and I really liked these. I've never had White Castle but they sure taste good. I cut the recipe down to 8 servings for 8 rolls (from Sam's Club) and then just placed them on a sprayed heavy tin foil. Baked for 20 minutes and they were perfect. The addition of the dill pickle was perfect! So surprising that my very, very picky hubby liked them and said I could make them again anytime!! Thanks Minnesota Girl for a great little recipe.

Ham and Swiss Stromboli

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
This was ok for me, fast and easy with the refrigerated french bread. The green onions over powered the rest of the taste so next time I would use some carmelized onions instead. This was not greasy at all using the ham and 4 cheese mexican cheese. I'd make this again with pizza dough and leave out the green onions.

Dog Food Dip

This was rather bland so I added one can of Mild Ro-Tel tomatoes and it made it 5 stars! I took it to a April Fools potluck and it was a hit. For something so simple and UGLY, it tasted very good served over Scoop Fritos. Thanks for posting Cindy!

Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Excellent hot fudge sauce. I didn't have the squares of chocolate so I followed the reccommendation on the Hershey's Cocoa can and used the equivalent for 4 squares. I used lower fat sweetened condensed milk but used real butter. Yummm.. and the vanilla at the end sent it over the top! Thank you so much for posting this recipe, it's so easy yet so delicious.

Quesadillas II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
Very good, I did bake at 400 degrees after spraying the outside of the tortilla with Pam. I added a bit of fresh bell pepper and it was really good. Good crunch on the flour tortilla without all the fat. I did serve with fresh salsa and sourcream, yummo! It hit the spot.

Pineapple Filling

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
This is so delicious on top of a cake made with coconut and rum. It sets up like a little bit loose pudding so the perfect topping for a cake or a filling. Thank you so much Traci for posting this easy, delicious recipe. Oops, I, too, used canned pineapple and was short about 2 T of the juice so just added some water.

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and didn't much care for it. My husband doesn't like spicey so thought I would try this. Something about the cream cheese/sourcream layer just put me off. Funcky flavor combo, I won't make this again.

Very tasty and so pretty, the roasted red peppers make it coral color. The taste of the ranch dressing just adds to the flavors. YUMMO!

Excellent pancakes.. light & fluffy, just as advertised! Only note is that they make 8 perfect size pancakes.. enough for 2 people. I made them with some conecuh sausage. These are my go-to recipe now!

Chewy Chocolate Cookies I

These are excellent chewy chocolate cookies, exactly what I was looking for. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and followed the directions exactly, not changing anything. It made 36 perfect cookies, baked at 9 minutes and then cooled for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet. Perfect chocolate fix.. just what I needed!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Excellent bar recipe with ingredients usually on hand. I wanted to use up some of my homemade orange/pineapple jam and it turned out perfect. Followed the recipe exactly and the timing was perfect. I like them refrigerated so that they are a little more firm and hold together better. Thanks for this recipe!

These really are good. I did caramelize the onions for at least an hour but, I too, cut back on the butter to just one stick for the whole recipe. I didn't add as much Worcestershire sauce as called for but it was very, very yummy!

Macaroni and Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
Yum, Yum, Yum!! I loved the flavor of the cheese, mayo and Beau Monde seasoning. I used mezze penne for the macaroni, boiling until very done (we like soft macaroni). Had all the tiny, bitty chopping done and just added to the rinsed & vinegared macaroni. The addition of the vinegar was fantastic, not overwhelming at all. I had grape tomatoes so used a few more than called for. Simply delicious, gourmet tasting and worthy of 5 stars!!
