Antipasto Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
Loved loved loved! I'm not a huge pasta salad fan, but I fell in love with this recipe. As is, it is very good, but I also tried it with a few alterations. I used about a 1/8 cup of chopped olives, I thinly sliced my pepperoni into rectangle 1/8 in slivers, I added about 2 ounces of ham (chopped fine). This is a great base for adding any veggies, I used green peppers, cucumbers and zucchini (grated) as fillers rather than the broccoli. My favorite small change was using fresh basil and fresh mozzarella that I sliced into thin, small chunks (once I also used string cheese cut into small circles - but the fresh mozzarella is much better). It was amazingly good and everyone asked for the recipe.

Oaty Cereal Bars

Excellent! I used Chocolate Cheerios and added chocolate chips and this turned out fantastic. I also made the recipe with plain cereal. Both went over well with the family.

Coconut Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
This was excellent. We actually only had one box of coconut cream pudding and used vanilla for the other 2 boxes and this was still incredibly good. We served it at a school event and everyone loved it. My students made it with ease!

Thirty Minute Meal

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
We are definitely adding this to the weekly menu. My husband and I both loved it. I do not like tomato soup - but tried it anyway and it was great. We used ground turkey, added a touch of red curry, a little chili powder, kidney beans, and garlic. I also used less water. Delicious.

Fresh Apple Tarts

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I think part of the problem some of the users here have is because the recipe does not tell you to keep the butter as cold as possible - this is the clue to any great pie crust - butter should stay cold, cold, cold. The best thing to do is mix all the ingredients lightly then balling it up and letting the crust sit in the fridge (to get the butter cold again) and then quickly work the crust for the tart. Doing this the crust worked fine and tasted great.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I've made this several times and of all the apple pies I've ever made this one always receives the most compliments. I do one thing differently (tried this after the first time). Before putting the latice top crust on I go ahead and pour 75% of the sugar mixture onto the apples. I then put the laticework on and pour on the remaining 25% of the mixture. Once I made it this way I couldn't stop people from beating down my door for the recipe. In fact, I have been told by some that I can never make it again because they might eat the whole pie without stopping. EXCELLENT!

Fantastic. I used chicken stock instead of water and bouillon. I also added finely chopped carrot and red pepper flakes.

Sour Cream Mushroom Chicken

My family really didn't like this at all. The wine taste did not appeal to them. I have tried other recipes without the wine added and they enjoyed those.

I tried this recipe for a party recently and they haven't stopped bragging about it. Everyone wants the recipe. I took another commenter's suggestions and added lemon zest - which made the recipe! Trust me on this one - you have just found the quickest and easiest crowd pleasing dessert around!

All I can say is WOW! My husband wanted his Mom's Mounds bars - but after tasting these - he will never go back. I added milk to the choc chips and microwaved them which cut down on time on an already quick and easy recipe! LOVED IT!
