About this Cook
I'm 17 and my passion is baking. I like to bake cookies, cakes, casseroles- and most other c-lettered items. Just kidding! I also like collecting recipes, drooling at all the photos and browising all recipes in general.
My favorite things to cook
Any sweet, delicious baked good that will bring a smile to all those that taste it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
no traditions off the top of my head.
My cooking triumphs
White chocolate macadamia cookies Tirmisu layer cake Banana bread Broccoli, chicken and cheese casserole As you can see my list is a tad short. I'm only new to baking and as an only child to a diabetic dad and weight conscious mum, I rarely find the occasion to bake. I will hopefully be adding to the list very soon.
My cooking tragedies
My first every bday cake for my mum- I use the term cake very loosley as it was more of a dense burnt bread.

Crisp Oatmeal Cookies
The texture of these were awsome, crispy on the ourside and chewy on the inside. They were, however a little lacking in flavour and a little too sweet for my taste. Chopped dates are also great in this!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV
These cookies were very average-tasting...I did however, toast the walnuts (substituted for pecans) and used raw sugar only. Maybe that made a difference, maybe I have high expectations...

Tiramisu Layer Cake
I was so pround of the cake I made! I made if for a birthday bbq and received rave reviews. The cake is not too sweet and very light in texture. I actually had some frosting left over and made the yummiest ice cream with it. Decoration suggestions: chocolate curls and toasted slivered almonds on the sides.
