Best Ever Hot Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
I didn't have marinated artichokes in my cupboard so instead I used regular canned ones and added garlic to the recipe. I baked it and then served it in a bread bowl with garlic bagel chips on the side. I wish that I had read all the reviews b/f I made it b/c I didn't keep it warm. But, that didn't stop people. I served it at a baby shower and it was a huge hit. And one big bonus? Once the dip was gone, the bread in the bowl was greasy and cheesy and garlicy :-) Mmmmmmm...healthy :-)

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
I absolutely LOVED this recipe!!!! I served this to 20 woman at a baby shower and it was a huge hit. I used red grapes, more curry than the recipe called for, and I made it the night before (these were all suggestions in reviews) and it was AWESOME! I made wraps with it. I have the last little nibble in a bowl in the fridge right now...waiting for the craving so that I can enjoy the last bite :-)

Garden Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
As is, this recipe is pretty basic. It's a good launching point. When I went to the Farmer's Market with this recipe in hand, I didn't stop with the required ingredients. I used green pepper, but also yellow, red, and purple. Each has it's own flavor, so it brings an incredible blend to the salsa. Also, I didn't use pickled jalapenos. I used fresh. It had some kick, that's for sure! I used apple cider vinegar instead of red wine. AND, I added more cilantro (it's one of my favorites). That's the glory of salsa......it's an empty canvas waiting for an explosion of taste and color!!! My mother in law (who is Mexican and can make INCREDIBLE salsa) was even impressed - a rarity :-) I will refer to this recipe in the future, but I recommend using this as a springboard for creativity!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
I went back and forth through all the Banana Bread recipes on the site. I found a lot of references to this recipe, so I figured it was worth a shot. I've never MADE my own banana bread, but I have eaten lots of it, so I know a good banana bread. This recipe makes a very, VERY good banana bread. I didn't add any nuts, but it would be perfect with some. So moist and flavorful. I read in another review that someone added banana extract to give it a little more spunk. It would be good, but this recipe is awesome as is.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
I absolutely loved this recipe! It was soooo easy, AND, much better than other stroganoff recipes that I have used (I've used one recipe that called for sour cream, cream cheese, and cream soup.........clogged arteries!!!) I took the advice of some other reviews and I added a packet of dried onion soup mix. When I added the cream cheese at the end, I also threw in two handfuls of fresh mushrooms. It was the perfect touch. I will be adding this recipe to my permanent collection!!

Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
I enjoyed the fact that I made my own noodles...never did I imagine doing this. As I was reading the reviews, I noticed people saying how fast and easy these were - they didn't seem so fast to me. The drying for 2 hours part really slowed down my process. If I'm going to use them in a pot of soup, do I still need to let them dry? I told my husband to not dismiss them becaues it was my first shot, so we're going to perfect this and have the best darn homemade noodles!!!! I will use this recipe again :-)

Spaetzle and Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
I made this recipe with "Grandma's Noodles II" (from this site), and it was AWESOME! I didn't use a whole chicken - I used boneless, skinless breasts. I cut them frozen and cooked them right in the broth with the onions and celery. The chicken came out so moist. My husband is a tried and true "meat and potatoes" guy, so I was a bit doubtful that he'd enjoy this meal of chicken noodle soup with warm applesauce on the side. HE LOVED IT! Three bowls later, he was to full for dessert :-) This will be one of our cold weather staples!

Cherry Crunch

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
I was looking for a sweet, crunchy dessert, and I was a little disappointed with this recipe. It seemed dry - but I think that I could add a little more butter and this would be great. I will make it again because my husband loved it!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
This recipe rocks my socks off!!! I not only chopped up broccoli, but I also used cauliflower. It added another nice crunch, and it's just as good. This recipe is part of my top ten!
