I am a stay at home mom to 3 wonderful boys ages 2, 4 and 6. Since I am lucky enough to be at home I make sure I make as much of my food as possible from scratch. I love to cook and bake and people love getting an invitation to meals at my house.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try anything. The only thing we don't do is seafood, I have tried and people who like seafood say I am really good at it but I just can't get the taste for it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is a wonderful cook and I have used many of her recipes but nothing specifically traditional in my family.
My cooking triumphs
I have perfected a recipe that I am submitting in the next Pillsbury Bake Off and possibly make to sell at our local farmer's market. Sequim is famous for its lavender and I have created the best Sequim Lavender Lemonade Snickerdoodles. If you have the opportunity to try lavender don't pass it up!! It is WONDERFUL!! I even make Lavender Steaks that are fabulous. The key is, just like any other herb, do not use too much! Alot of people over season when using lavender and it can ruin a meal.
My cooking tragedies
The only cooking tragedies I have had involve a large batch of rancid flour! YUCK~
