Garlicky, Spicy and Sesamey Green Beans

I cut the sesame seeds back by half and added a sprinkling of red pepper flake, other than that I made no changes. Very good. No leftovers. I served this with brown rice and Budget Bytes Honey Sriracha Chicken.

Apple Pie Sauce

Hard-Boiled Egg Casserole

I made three small changes. My local Walmart did not have gruyere cheese so I substituted an equal amount of swiss. I also omitted the parmesan only because I did not have any on hand and I used evaporated milk in place of the half-n-half. I served this over whole wheat toast--HUGE hit in my house. We ate every goshdarn bit of this. LOVED IT. The kids actually asked me to make this again this weekend. This was inexpensive to make and really filled my husband and two kids up!

Oatmeal Cookie Pancakes

Even after adding a cup and a half of flour, this pancake batter was still wet. I couldn't even get one solid pancake out of it. This whole recipe was inedible and a waste of ingredients.

Whipped Pumpkin Pie

For this recipe, I used Extra Creamy Cool Whip and I omitted the nutmeg and increased the pumpkin pie spice to a full teaspoon. The kids thought this pie was fantastic........the grownups wouldn't eat any more past a bite. A little under half of this sat in the fridge until I threw it out. Easy? Yes. Did we like it? Not really.

Pumpkin Apple Muffins

Instead of corn oil, I used vegetable oil. I did not have flax seed, I just increased the nuts just a touch. I also used my own spices to make pumpkin pie spice. Very moist muffin, my whole family really liked the combination of the pumpkin, apple, dried cranberries and nuts. This is quite different but in a good way. All the diverse textures was lovely. I will absolutely make this again. Eight thumbs up!

Champion Dip

I admit I was a hard sell with this dressing, I thought for sure I would hate it. Honestly, I ADORE IT. I did increase the granulated garlic, dill weed and curry powder but other than that, I kept to the recipe. The longer this sits, the better it gets. Totally addictive. EXCELLENT WITH HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS.

Quick Spanish Rice

I omitted the celery (for some reason, I didn't have any on hand this week and didn't want to spend extra money at the store), increased the garlic and went a little easy with the chili powder. I used pre-cooked brown rice. Heating this through for 20 minutes was unnecessary. I think if I had done that, my rice would have been WAY overcooked. Tasty, though a little salty for our tastes. The kids especially liked this. NO leftovers.

Leftover Meatloaf Tater Tot Casserole

I made a few small changes. I eliminated the can of cream of chicken and added a half cup of milk or so to make a thinner sauce. I did not add the seasoning salt because the cream of mushroom soup was salty enough on it's own. I did cube up the leftover meatloaf and folded it into the sauce ingredients and I used Crispy Crowns instead of tater tots. I DID NOT TRY THIS MYSELF--but my three boys ate the whole thing in one sitting. My husband is STILL talking about this almost a week later. I thought it was pretty amazing because a) this used leftover meatloaf in a new way and b) this recipe called for all ingredients I had on hand. Thumbs up from our family, I will absolutely make this again.

Never Fail Applesauce Spice Cake

I kept to the recipe only adding a teaspoon of vanilla and a half cup of organic raisins. I also used homemade applesauce. I made muffins out of this recipe (I skipped the frosting today, though next time I make this, I will try it) and I actually got 18 muffins out of one recipe. Moist and delicious. When I make this again, I would double the spices but honestly, that's a personal preference. Four and a half stars.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Pancakes

I flip-flopped the baking powder/baking soda amounts and added a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. After mixing this batter up, I let it sit for about ten minutes (maybe more) before ladling it onto the hot griddle. AMAZING PANCAKES. They turned out GORGEOUS. Like something you would see on the front of a food magazine. And the flavor is JUST LIKE OATMEAL COOKIES. As soon as I finished making these, I wrote this down on a notecard and put it in my permanent recipe file. Good job, jasper33!

Spicy Cajun Pretzels

I used a homemade dry ranch seasoning instead of packaged. I made no other changes. My pretzels were done baking at about an hour and a half. I also stirred them every fifteen minutes. These are terribly addictive. Everyone loved them, especially my oldest boy. This recipe's a keeper.

Creamy and Cheesy Ranch Dressing

After tasting this, I did end up adding a few more spices (dill weed, onion powder, celery salt) but I did not gussy it up too much. I did not add any additional salt after I added the celery salt because cottage cheese does tend to be a little salty. This was surprizingly good. Of course I liked it but I was more surprized that my husband and kids liked it, too. I would make this again. NOTE: I used 4% milkfat cottage cheese.

Restaurant Style Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

I did not add the water called for in this recipe. I actually added about a half cup or so of evaporated milk I had leftover in my fridge from another recipe. I also added a good amount black pepper. My three boys INHALED this. No leftovers. NOTE: I actually figured out that with sales and price matching, this whole meal (if you count the large canteloupe we all shared as well) cost us 3.49 or 87 cents each person. This fed one very hungry husband, two very hungry growing boys and one mother for breakfast. Not going to complain about that.

Steve's Fall Pear Sauce

I only made one change, I omitted the cinnamon. I threw all my ingredients into my smaller crockpot and let it go all day while I was at work. Once I got home, all I had to do was mush it a bit with an old fashioned potato masher (and after taste testing this, add a scant quarter cup of sugar). The smell of this was AMAZING. You could smell it outside! Simple as could be, ten million times tastier than homemade applesauce any day. Who knew?

Cheesy Oven Scrambled Eggs

I cut this recipe in half and ended up using an 8x8 glass baking dish. Instead of seasoning salt, I used a small amount sea salt and I added a little fresh ground pepper. My two boys, husband and dog made quick work of this. No leftovers. I really liked that I could basically scramble the ingredients and pour them into the dish, throw it in the oven and walk away and do my usual morning stuff. I will use this recipe again for sure.
