Chipotle Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2011
I made the recipe as outlined, but had a little confusion about "chipotle peppers in adobo sauce". Do I make adobo sauce and then put the peppers in it? Is there a recipe you use for adobo sauce? I didn't see adobo sauce on any shelf at the grocery store so that part of the recipe has me stumped. Can someone explain?

Key West Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
This marinade was alright, but I couldn't taste the lime, garlic or honey at all, just the soy sauce. Next time I will double the lime and half the soy sauce. I used garlic powder instead because it stuck to the chicken better but I will try shredding the garlic next time. Thirty minutes was plenty of marinating time for me.

Grilled Zucchini II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I think this was terrific! I grilled in on medium heat on a gas grill using the Italian dressing basting sauce. I cooked it until is was tender and slightly browned with obvious grill marks like the photo. I really couldn't taste the Italian seasoning after the zucchini was grilled, but the flavor added by the grill was was wonderful. Also, I sliced the zucchini lengthwise as previous viewers suggested. I thought it tasted as good as the chicken I was grilling!

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I was attracted to this recipe because ingredients in commercially sold chips make my face break out. I really enjoyed the taste of the chips and like other reviewers, I was surprised that they could be browned in the microwave. I used my food processor to slice the potatoes, so that part went very quickly. During the microwaving, I discovered that a really flat plate is required and that the chips in the center will brown more quickly than the chips on the outer edges. Also, it was a little time consuming carefully laying a single layer of chips on the plate and determining exactly how many minutes a good browning actually took. The chips were extremely hot when I removed them from the plate so I had to watch that I didn't hurt myself. All in all, the chips were good, but I don't think that the small amount of chips that one can microwave at a time makes it worth it for me. It was interesting to try though, so thanks for the microwaving adventure.

Olive Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
I was eager to try this recipe, but was a little disappointed with the results. The chicken became overcooked with the amount of cooking time specified. I also disliked the thyme seasoning, which seemed to conflict with the taste of the olives. In addition, it wasn't quite sweet enough so I found myself adding a teaspoon of brown sugar to the sauce. I don't think I will make it again.

Crab and Swiss Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This recipe is terriffic! I have used both the canned crab meat and the imitation crab, and they are both very delicious! I know the calories in this recipe are not low, but it is worth it, especially for special occasions. I served this to my husband Christmas morning along with some fresh fruit and he was delighted - almost ate the whole thing!

Broccoli Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I made this recipe as written and brought it to a Christmas party buffet. It tasted great until I added the bacon, Some of the guests ate it, but most of it was still sitting there at the end.

Pasta Melanzana

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
I thought this recipe was terrific. I added red onion as others had suggested and also used shredded parmesan cheese rather than the grated. Was able to use a very large bunch of spinach as well. (I thought measuring it in cups was sort of odd.) Perfect! Will keep this recipe handy!

Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
It was alright, and kept the chicken moist, but the flavor was too strong after 5 hours of marinating.

Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
This is probably my alltime favorite easy recipe. The amount of garlic is sublime and it takes only a short amount of time to make. I use either crushed cornflakes or bread crumbs as the breading and it turns out great every time. I usually just grate my garlic on a shredder and that way I get all the flavor. Great and tasty recipe.

Coconut Cake Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
The topping on this recipe is great when you use half the sugar and sweetened coconut. As for the bottom crust, is was tasteless and crumbly.

Stuffed Shells IV

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
This recipe is bland. If I were to make it again I would have loaded it with lots of Italian seasoning, particularly basil. Also, the ingredients as called for in the recipe filled a 9X13 dish AND an 8X8 dish, so I had to find additional sauce for the smaller dish. Otherwise, I think it is a pretty healthy dish,

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
This is really a great recipe. I used ground turkey instead of chicken and white kidneys for the beans because that is what I had on hand. I didn't add cayenne pepper either because I don't care for it. However, it came out great and I enjoyed it. I will keep this in my recipe box.
