Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Great recipe. Easy to make with great results. It was gone in no time. I used the zest and juice from three medium lemons. I also added 1/2 tsp cream of tartar to the egg whites. I might double the meringue next time since I like it mile high. I am also going to make this with lime in place of lemon and see how it turns out.

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
YUM YUM YUM!!! Any Jalapeno popper lover HAS to try these! I used fresh chopped jalapenos and they gave the burgers amazing flavor. Not the easiest patty to form and can get messy trying to flip on the grill but O-M-G...SOOO worth it. I can not believe these are not on restaurant menus everywhere!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
I went ahead and let this rise a couple times simply because I made it early in the day and had the time to do so.(rise=flavor) I added Italian spice mix and a touch of onion powder when I added the flour. It was good. Not as airy and bubble as I personally like but it baked up really crispy and golden. Nothing worse than a soggy bottom pizza and this was anything but. I would defiantly use this recipe again but my hunt for the perfect homemade crust continues.

Meatloaf With A Bite

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
This is yummy, affordable as well as easy. I have made this a good dozen times with all deferent salsas and it never disappoints. I have even used a bit of spaghetti sauce once when I did not have the full amount of salsa on hand and it was still great. I do add a bit more crackers than the recipe calls for and it is still VERY moist. I serve it with oven baked crispy potatoes and a side salad. Prep time is as easy as mixing one bowl and patting into a loaf pan. Hard to believe how far a pound of beef with go! My kids love it too.

Margaritas

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
I have been making Margaritas very similar to this for some time now. I found myself with no good limes one hot day while I was making Tacos...GASP RIGHT!! ha I always have lime aid in the freezer so....walla...The best frozen Margarita was born. I use about a Tablespoon or less of sugar per-pitcher and prefer just a splash of or no triple sec. I use 4 oz Tequila, 1/3 can frozen lime aid, sugar to taste up to 1 tablespoon, splash of triple sec (or none), 2 cups of ice. Place all in that order in a blender. Puree until smooth...Everyone loves these. Now go get out on the deck on a nice hot day and ENJOY!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
YUMMY! Everyone especially my husband loves these. We are big fans of brownies and have tossed many batches in the trash. They have to be the right texture as well as have great flavor to pass in this house. These have it all! Chewy edges and fudgy center! I used dark chocolate cocoa and added 1/2 cup of shopped macadamia nuts. DELICIOUS. We all agreed they would be very good with out the icing as well. You will cure your chocolate craving with these for sure! I will be making these again and again. With regular cocoa powder, with nuts, with out nuts. I dont think you could go wrong with these. Did I mention they are super easy and fast to make!

Decadent Chocolate Orange Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2004
GREAT! If you like chocolate and orange you have to try this cake! This cake is so good and it is not hard to make but looks very professional. The only thing I did differently is I used the remaining ganache that was to be pored over the final layer as a fluffy icing. I chilled it and then whipped it until light in color and fluffy. Then I just iced the cake as you normally would. I do recommend bringing this cake to room temperature before serving. It was a huge hit and I will defiantly make it again. I give it five starts! ( I used Large eggs)

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
Thought this might help some cut the cost of this cake. mascarpone = mascherpone = Italian cream cheese Pronunciation: mas-car-POH-nay Notes: A key ingredient in tiramisu and zabaglione, mascarpone is velvety soft, slightly acidic, and very expensive. Although Italian in origin, the name may come from the Spanish mas que bueno, "better than good." It's usually sold in tubs. Use it soon after you purchase it since it's highly perishable. Substitutes: Blend 8 ounces softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup whipping cream. OR Blend 8 ounces softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup cream OR Blend 8 ounces softened cream cheese with 1/8 cup whipping cream and 1/8 cup sour cream. OR Whip ricotta cheese in a blender until smooth (lower in fat)
