Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
Absolutely delicious! My husband, 4.5 year old and 3 year old all ate it (with Basmati rice & Naan bread). I omitted the cayenne pepper and instead added Indian masala spice, and 2 tbsp tomato paste instead of one. It was amazing, we loved it!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This was delicious just the way it is. I followed directions perfectly and it made enough for 2 dinners! My husband and myself along with our two daughters (ages 2.5 and 4) both loved it! Served with some flat pita bread because it made a lot of sauce! Delicious.

Garlic Alfredo Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
My husband and I loved this. I did not have any creole seasoning, so just used Italian blend and some Paprika. The Alfredo sauce was very good - used extra minced garlic! Served with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Will make this again, it's a keeper!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
My husband and I both loved it. This is the first lasagna I ever made, and it turned great! I made it twice already, it came to 6 servings, and therefore 3 dinners for the 2 of us. Very delicious. I used pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce and also added spices, such as Italian seasonings, pepper, and Garlic Plus. Delicious, will make again for sure.

Ukrainian Apple Cake (Yabluchnyk)

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
I made this today and ABSOLUTELY loved it!! It was delicious with a cup of coffee. The grocery store ran out of both brown sugar & butter, so I used margarine and 1/3 cup white sugar instead, and it still turned out super! I also baked for 30 minutes at 375F.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Sweet & delicious, although quite dry. They are good to be eaten with coffee/tea to add the moistness. They also fall apart in your hands once baked and crumble; eating is also quite messy with the icing sugar getting everywhere. The taste is good, though.

Delicious Healthy Strawberry Shake

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
Not all that great, tastes as if it's missing an ingredient (maybe a banana, organe, or some lemon juice would do next time.)

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
These turned out really well, nicely baked through. I've used only 1/2 cup sugar, though, as the 1 full cup sounded a bit overwhelming; with 1/2 cup sugar they ended up being quite sweet already.

Strawberries in Spiced Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
I made this recipe tonight for my husband and me, and we both found it equally unappealing. I used the required ingredients, only cut down on the sugar and used about 3/4 cups, and it still tasted horribly sweet. The sweetness of this was incredibly disturbing, and even the sour taste of the strawberries did not help at all. I am a huge fan of cinammon, but it really did not work in this case with all the sugar.

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
I've made this Parmesan Chicken for dinner and it turned out absolutely great! The only thing is I strongly cut down on the Parmesan cheese, and added about 1/4 cup (the entire apartment smelled like Parmesan for hours, but you could barely taste it on the chicken). Also added other spices, such as Italian Mix, Oregano, extra Garlic & Pepper, and some Barbeque Mix spices. In general, baked for the required 45 minutes (6 drumsticks instead of 12), and they were DELICIOUS!

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
For this recipe, I've used a smaller, round baking pan, and also cut down the required oil amount by half. Also, instead of using cocoa powder, I've used 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate and grated it into small chunks. Since the chocolate was already sweetened, I added only 1 cup of sugar, and the brownies still ended up being quite sweet. Next time, I'd prefer to somehow make them more chocolaty and add nuts which would add to the taste. The texture was not moist at all, just a little crumbly, which was fine. Overall, really nice brownies!!
