Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

I love this recipe! The cookies came out chewy and moist. I stuck to the recipe, but added an entire bag of chocolate chips (I love chocolate!). I had to up the cook time to about 20mins a batch, but that is neither here nor there. This was my very first time ever making cookies completely from scratch, and I couldn't have picked a better recipe to start out on. I daresay this is almost fail proof if you stick to the directions and watch the cook time.

Bourbon Chicken

This tastes similar to the bourbon chicken at Golden Corral, in my opinion. Wonderful. I only marinated the chicken for about an hour, and I omitted the bourbon because I hate alcohol. The chicken came out nice and juicy (I cooked it for about 45mins, basting every so often) and flavorful! This is definitely going into my weekly rotation of meals. Thanks!

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

This was absolutely phenomenal! I was a little suspicious at first because I didn't know how the dijon mustard would taste on the salmon, but it turned out amazing! Even my boyfriend, who HATES mustard, loved it! I used prepackaged salmon filets, and let them thaw out. I followed some other peoples' advice and melted the butter in the microwave, then stirred in the bread crumbs. The fish turned out crunchy and delicious. Also, I didn't really measure the breadcrumbs or the mustard. I put more on a couple and less on the rest. More mustard is definitely the key!

Szechwan Shrimp

This is by far the best szechwan shrimp I have ever had - anywhere! It is simply delicious. I'm a novice cook, and I prepared this with no problem at all. I will say that if you don't like spicy foods to be VERY CAREFUL with how much of the red peppers you add. I wasn't really paying attention and must have dumped a ton in there, because the dish was way too hot (my fault though, not the recipe's!). You might want to omit the red peppers all together the first time.

White Chili I

My boyfriend is not a fan of traditional red-sauce chili - in fact, before I made this recipe he hadn't had ANY kind of chili in years! We both found this to be divine. I'm a pretty novice cook, so if you're just trying out your culinary skills, this is a pretty easy recipe to follow. I stuck to the exact recipe on the site, and it came out perfectly.

Low-Fat Chocolate Cake

This is the first cake I ever made myself. It came out perfectly! I'm a HUGE chocolate lover, and this easy-to-make cake really hits the spot! The only thing hard about this dessert is not consuming it all at once! :)
