About this Cook
I am an avid cook. I love to experiment in my kitchen. I love to try and come up with something delicious with the ingredients I have on hand. I love exotic foods, especially Indian, Mediterranean and Asian inspired foods. I also love to bake. I make an amazing chocolate chip cookie.
My favorite things to cook
Butter Chicken, Curry of any kind, especially with coconut milk, banana bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, we didn't have much money, so my mom got very creative with what we had on hand. We often ate things like green bean pizza. It taught me that although strange, creativity is key in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Making over 1000 cookies that tasted *wonderful* for a convention.
My cooking tragedies
Carrot soup. I liked it, but no one else did. We had 20lbs of carrots in the fridge...what else was I supposed to do?

Snickerdoodles III
I was not at all impressed with this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, and the cookies came out tough and chewy. I've been making cookies for years, and have never had any recipe turn out this hard and chewy. I'm not sure what happened.

Creamy Cilantro Chicken with a Kick
This is fabulous. I modified it a little- added some scallions and a little more ginger, and I used lime juice instead of zest, and I used dried cilantro instead of fresh. I also added more coconut milk. It was fantastic. Tastes just like it came from a restaurant. Everyone loved it, even my picky boyfriend.
