This dish met all my criteria for a top recipe: it was simple, elegant, delicious, easy-to-prepare, moist & my husband & children really liked it!

Blueberry Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
Cake mix has plenty of sugar already, so I left out the 1/2 cup sugar called for, & it still tasted great.

My criteria for 5 stars is that my whole family, including my picky young children, love it. The kids asked for seconds! Thanks for a super recipe!

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Everyone in my family loved this, even my picky young children. This was tastier than store-bought "Shake & Bake," & fast & easy to prepare. I had no sage, so I left it out, & it was still delicious. Be careful w/ the baking time, though. You have to watch the chicken carefully & not go by the 40-minute suggestion. After turning the chicken over after the initial baking time of 20 minutes, my chicken only needed 5-10 more minutes of cooking or it would have been overdone.

Mondi's Super Simple Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Thanks for an easy, tender, moist chicken dish that my whole family loved! I don't give out "5's" very often--only if my whole family likes the dish, including my picky young children--but this got a well-deserved "5"! I substituted Benecol for the butter because my husband has high cholesterol, & it was delicious!

Fresh Pear Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This bread is delicious & easy to make. My whole family loved it. I used 3/4 cup wheat flour & 3/4 white flour (as recommended on the wheat flour pkg.), & it did turn out well. Like some of the other reviewers, though, I had to bake it longer & at a higher temperature because of the high moisture content, & I didn't even consider the pears I used as ripe. Next time I will eliminate some or all of the water called for in the recipe.

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Delicious...I will definitely make this again. I used "Texmatti" American basmatti rice, omitted the salt, & it was yummy. This would also make an excellent rice dish w/o the peppers.

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
This is the tastiest chili I've ever made. I think this will become a favorite in our home. My husband doesn't like "hot-spicy", so I omitted the green chile peppers & chili pepper flakes, & it was delicious. It's a welcome change from the usual chili recipes. I served it over rice & found it substantial without the beans. I think the key to this recipe's rich flavor is the beef broth. I recommend using a brand without MSG, such as Kitchen Basics Beef Stock (that's what I used).

Herbed Sweet 'n' Sour Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
This was some of the most tender chicken I ever made. I didn't care much for the sauce, but my husband liked it (he doesn't usually like spicy dishes), so I'll be making it again.

Easy Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Very tasty & easy to make. My husband & I enjoyed this. I followed some of the other reviewers' advice & traded the amounts of tomato sauce & chicken broth. I'm glad I did as the consistency would have been too thick. I also omitted the celery out of personal preference. I'd like to try 1 reviewer's suggestion & include some diced tomatoes the next time I make it.

Black Bean Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I'm glad I read others' reviews before making this. I've had better & prefer spicier, but my husband liked it, & it's healthy & inexpensive to make, so I'll be making it again. I substituted just 2 cups of chicken broth for all that water & substituted 1/2 packet of mild chili seasoning instead of the other spices.

Party-Size Greek Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This is delicious & a nice change from the usual pasta & potato salads. The next time I make it, however, I will modify it because it's too salty. I will definitely make my own oil & vinegar dressing & maybe even use less feta cheese & olives.

Simple Baked Apples

Delicious...I omitted the raisins & used fat-free half & half. I served as is, but thought of all the different ways you could serves this: mixed with oatmeal, granola or another cereal or w/ vanilla yogurt or ice cream or whipped topping.
