About this Cook
I am a total foodie that loves to cook and find inspiration from going out to the newest and/or hottest restaurants in the Puget Sound. I've been married for 15 years to a wonderful man who travels the country frequently for work. Wherever he goes, I live vicariously through him by sending him to the best restaurants in each city he visits and always anxiously await his report.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilling steaks, chicken, fish, veggies, burgers...etc. Creating fun hors d' ouvers, fresh salsas, and salads out of out of the ordinary. I also enjoy creating dishes that feed the soul.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is full of great cooks. Some of my favorite family dishes to make is my Dad's Goulash, my Grandmother's Thanksgiving wild rice dressing and Spaghetti, my Mom's Oyster Stew and Tuna Casserole, my little bro's favorite pasta salad, my Aunt's taco salad and chocolate peanut butter no bake cookies, my Mother-in-Law's Schnitzel, Spetzle and German Potato Salad...I could go on and on.
My cooking triumphs
I made the cute little Penguin appetizers that I found on allrecipes for a Christmas party. Everyone loved the scene of little olive penguins holding umbrellas decorated with snow flakes. It was fun to make too!
My cooking tragedies
I tried making Sour Braten when my Mother-in-Law came to visit. It wasn't very good. I think we ended up going out to eat..ha!

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese
Great mac n' cheese! I followed the top reviewer's advice and added a teaspoon each of ground mustard and worchestershire to the sauce. I also added one chicken boullion and a dash (to taste) of dried onion flake into the sauce, and added panko bread crumbs with a little drizzle of butter on top and baked for 25 minutes. YUM!!

New Red Potato Salad
Great flavor! I added a small squirt of yellow mustard, a few dashes of dill, 4 sliced radishes and some chopped ham along with the called for ingredients and it was fantastic. Great recipe to play with. Thanks so much!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops
The method to this recipe is amazing! My husband and I love black pepper, but I must say that I will reduce the amount of pepper I use next time. I didn't have seasoning salt so I made my own: 3T Kosher salt 1T Paprika 1T Celery Salt 2t Garlic Powder 1t Onion Powder or crushed dry onion 1/2t Cayanne Mix together, and store in sealed container. This recipe opened my eyes again to the world of pork, thanks so much!! I will definitely make this again and again.
