Soy and Garlic Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
This is an interesting recipe. Something is missing from the marinade, I think. I liked it ok, but, will probably not be making it again. Hubby loves soy sauce and he wouldn't even eat it; maybe too much garlic or something. Thanks for sharing your recipe though : )

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This was a good recipe. I changed a few ingredients (for what I had in stock). I sauteed the onions and celery with butter and salt; and then instead of the tomatoes, I added a can of rotel. Then I added the tomato sauce and water and brought to a simmer. I cleaned the peppers and then combined the beef, rice, and basil and stuffed it into the peppers. I then placed the stuffed green peppers into my slow cooker and poured the hot tomato sauce all around and over it. I let it cook in the slow cooker for about 6 hours. It was quite delicious; but, I do have to say; if you do not add quite a bit of salt to the dish, it will be bland. I even froze the left-over tomato sauce, I am sure I will find something to use it in.

This was pretty delicious! I substituted shredded chicken for beef and sour cream for yogurt (what I had on hand) and it was devoured. Thank you for such a delicious and easy recipe. : )

Flavorful Flounder

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I think it's the topping that makes the dish. My Hubby who cannot stand seafood, actually ate his entire serving. I will definitely make this yummy recipe again. Thanks : ) I did substitute 2TBS mayo and 1TBS milk (per previous review) and I baked it.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
This is dry dense recipe; but, if you warm it a bit and add butter, it is delicious. My Hubby was very skeptical (not a blueberry fan) and he loved it. I also saw this recipe (or similar) made on tv; the girl sliced it and made french toast. Yummo! : )

Shoyu Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
The flavor was delicious! I baked the chicken since it was too cold outside to grill, so the seasoning made a funny texture on the chicken. However, the juice in the pan was so delicious, I poured it over the rice on my dish. Thanks for the recipe : )

Cinnamon Sweet Potato Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
These chips came out looking burnt and flimsy. I was tempted to toss them; but, my Hubby still wanted to "taste" them. He ended up eating them all. He said they were delicious...especially the really thin ones. A little chewy, a little crispy. I did use a bit more butter and coated both sides of the chips before baking them.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
Delicious! I love this recipe : ) I followed the recipe - except - I seperated the egg yolks/whites. Whipped them both seperately and then added them to the cake mix. My Hubby loved this cake too. So rich. A little goes a long way. Enjoy! : )

Incredible Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
Super juicy - but, not very flavorful. I read prior reviews and rubbed both sides with garlic salt and used a generous amount of brown sugar on top of each one. The flavor we could taste was very good though : )

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
AWESOME! Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe! : ) I read the other reviews and here is what I did (from start to finish - about 58 minutes and no issues with dough or filling). pb filling - 1 cup pb, 1 cup powdered sugar (chilled once mixed) chocolate cookie part - I added about 2 tbs milk to mix and started to chill; but then realized it was so easy to wrap around the chilled pb. I cooked at 375F for only 7 minutes and removed immediately to cooling rack. They were perfect. Chewy (not dry) and not cracked. I will definitely be making these again.

Classic Bran Muffins

This recipe was so tasty. I used a buttermilk substitute (milk and lemon juice) and omitted the raisins (Hubby's preference). He loved them! I had people asking me to make more! Thank you : )

Mom's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This was delicious! I made this pie crust because I was out of shortening. I used half the dough for a custard pie and the other half into mini chicken pot pies. I was so surprised how yummy it was and the suttle sweetness paired very well with both recipes. I will definitely make this crust again. fyi...I did have to knead this by hand, it would not mix properly in the kitchen-aide AND it was a tough dough to roll out BUT so worth it! : ) Thanks : )

Pumpkin Bars I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
This is DELICIOUS! Tastes like carrot cake (and dense too) w-out the carrots. I used all-purpose flour too since I did not have bread flour; worked fine! I also made home-made cream cheese: cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar. MMM...Good Recipe! : )
