Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
This recipe is awesome! I followed the ingredients to a "T" and prepared the dough in the bread machine. Here's my modification: After rising, roll out the dough lengthwise and cut into small portions for sandwich rolls. Shape each portion into a round "roll" shape and place rolls on a greased baking pan, cover with a towel and allow to rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 - 17 minutes, until lightly browned. Yum! Enjoy.

This recipe is super easy and super yummy! I used it to make calzones and I think it will be even better as pizza!

Guinness® Corned Beef

The slow cooker is a must for this recipe! Cooked on high for approx. 5 1/2 hours. I highly recommend adding some cabbage and carrots to the pot during the last hour of cooking. Yum!

Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
This granola is absolutely wonderful! Plus, it's super healthy! I do make some changes to suit our taste ... I use three bananas and leave out the dates and dried mixed fruit (just use raisins.) I increase the cinnamon to 2 tsp. and add 1 tsp. salt. The rest of the recipe I follow as listed. It takes 1 hr. 45 min. at 250 degrees. Make it once and you won't be able to live without always having some on hand!!!!

A very light and tasty addition to the hors d'ouevres table. I left out the white sugar as previous reviewers suggested. Very simple to make, which is a good thing since I've been requested to bring to parties again and again!!

This marinade gave the steak a wonderful flavor! The only change I made was reducing the oil to 1/4 c. Will use this one again and again!

Asian Coleslaw

Would give this recipe more stars if I could . . . it's wonderful! I couldn't find any Napa cabbage, so I used extra green & red and didn't add any oil (advice from previous reviews) or cilantro. Added a handful of chow mein noodles before serving. Everyone raved about it, including me!

Blue Cheese, Bacon and Chive Stuffed Pork Chops

Great, easy-to-make recipe! Substituted feta for the blue cheese and it came out great. My husband praised after his first bite. Took about 45 minutes to cook to our liking. Will try browning in pan before baking next time.

Omitted the butter and used spiced rum. Very good drink for the winter months. Makes the house smell good too!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
This is my all-time favorite sweet potato recipe! I was unable to locate the recipe that I had, but was lucky to find this one. Followed the recipe as written, except maybe a tad more vanilla. Too heavy to make regularly, but a great holiday dish!

The first apple pie I have made and it turned out great! I followed the advice of other reviewers and added vanilla and cinnamon to the mixture. I poured half of the sauce on top of the apples and the other half over the lattice crust. Yum!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Great recipe! It was my first time making quinoa and we loved it! I left out the garlic, corn and cilantro since I just used what I had on hand. It was still left with great flavor. This will definitely be made again and again in my household!

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Honestly, when I made these I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were surprisingly good! Since I was in need of a trip to the grocery store, I didn't have lettuce or tomato on hand, which I definitely think it needed. Will make again for sure!

Spaghetti Squash I

This makes a great healthy meal! I added chicken, zucchini and mushrooms to make it a bit heartier. I also used a can of diced tomatoes instead of fresh. You really wouldn't know that you were eating squash - it's that good. I even have enough for leftovers!! Yummy!

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Wonderful recipe!! The orange really makes it stand out from ordinary zucchini bread. I used chocolate/white chocolate swirl chips. My husband was very skeptical when I told him I made zucchini bread, but after his first slice he was hooked! I will definitely make again.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

We really enjoyed this recipe. My husband thought the au jus had a funny taste, but I told him it was probably the beer that he was tasting and not expecting. The next time I might leave out the beer and see how that works for his taste buds! Thanks for a great recipe!

It was good, but think it would have been better without the corn syrup. It was really too sweet for my taste. Next time I make I will leave out the corn syrup. Hopefully that's the trick!
