Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This recipe was great, simple and tasty! The only thing I changed was that I added some sunflower seeds for a little more crunch. This salad was a great side dish for hamburgers. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Savory Slow Cooker Squash and Apple Dish

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
I was skeptical about serving this dish for part of our Christmas dinner since I had never made it before, but I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, it turned out to be my favorite part of the meal. The only thing that I did differently was I only cooked it on high for about three hours, and then turned it down to low until we were ready to eat. I think if I had left it on high the whole time the squash would have been too mushy. Thanks for posting a wonderful recipe!

Picnic Potato Salad with No Mayonnaise

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
I am so excited to be the first person to review this recipe! This potato salad is not a 'traditional' recipe, but I think that works in its favor. I loved the tangy flavor of the vinegar, and the little bit of spice the mustard gave the salad. And the blue cheese just put this over the top. I will definitely be making this again because it was so easy to make and tasted wonderful. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Maridele!

Creamy Corn Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
We thought this recipe was pretty good overall. When reading over the reviews there were several people that commented on there being too much mayonnaise, so when I made it I just put in 1/4 cup at first. I still thought it got a little runny so I think next time I will probably just add it a spoonful at a time and stop when the corn mixture is just coated. The flavor was great though! I can't believe how good it tasted with so few ingredients. I also liked that it is a simple enough recipe that I can make it for a quick weeknight meal, but still different enough that we're not eating just plain corn. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us, June!

Moroccan Spicy Carrot Salad

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
Wow, I think these were the best tasting carrots that I have ever had! Extremely flavorful and such interesting flavors at that. I thought maybe with the cayenne and paprika that these might be too spicy, but they came out perfect. And while it takes a little while for the carrots to cook, it is so easy because a lot of the time is just waiting, and you can do other things during that time. My whole family loved these carrots so I know I will be making them again sometime soon. Thanks for the recipe, Malak!

Egg Salad English Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
Oh, yum this was delicious egg salad! A few weeks ago I had an egg salad that was similar at a restaurant and I was looking on AR to see if I could find anything similar. I was in luck with this one! I love the addition of the bacon and cheese, something that my husband was not too sure about, however he ended up eating two sandwiches. So I think it went over all right. I did not have English muffins and our tiny store here does not carry them (strange, I know) so I just made them on regular sandwich bread and they turned out wonderful. Also added just a little more mustard, but they would have been perfectly fine without adding more also, just a personal preference. I can't wait to make these again sometime soon! Thanks, Deborah!

Gram's Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was very good and quick to make. The only thing I changed was I used chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken. The reason I didn't put it as a five star was because it was pretty liquidy. Next time I will try to use less water/bouillon mixture. It still tasted good, just a personal preference. One thing that I did like about it was that it was very fast to make. The thing that took the longest was making the pie crust myself, but if you used a premade one then it would go really fast. Thank you for posting this recipe, Jill. I will be making this again!

Soccer Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
This salad was great! I loved the flavor the dressing gave to the salad. All of the ingredients are very different so I wasn't sure how they would all go together, but this is fantastic. I don't usually like almonds in things, but I loved them in here. We will definitely eat this again! Thanks for this recipe!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Great chili recipe! So simple to make for a weeknight dinner since there isn't much prep work. Followed the recipe exactly as written and it turned out perfect! A little on the spicy side, just to warn people that are sensitive to a lot of spice, but it tastes great. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Deb, my whole family loved it!

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
I didn't use a bread machine so I just mixed up all of the ingredients, kneaded for about 8 minutes, let rise for 45, divided into rolls, let sit for 15 minutes, and then baked. Turned out great! The dough didn't rise as much as I thought it would so I was a little concerned about how they would turn out, but they tasted fabulous. The rolls ended up rising quite a bit in the oven. These made nice, light, fluffy rolls that would be a perfect compliment to almost any meal. Thanks for the recipe, Debbie!

Taco Salad III

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
This taco salad was fantastic! Simple, every-day ingredients so it made it real easy to make. I loved the Catalina dressing on the salad, and I think that is what sets this taco salad apart from many others because of the unique taste. Some people said that they thought the Catalina was a bit off for a taco salad, but that is the key ingredient in making it different than your typical taco salad. Will definitely make again. AND my son ate his whole plate - WOW!! Thanks for the wonderful recipe, Melanie!

German Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This soup was very good, we enjoyed it a lot! Some people said they had problems with the cheddar cheese melting, but I think that if you just melt it on low it shouldn't clump or leave a greasy layer, none of those problems for us anyway. Loved that the soup had tons of veggies in it, and the mayo gave it a nice little kick. We will be making this again definitely! If you're looking for a slightly different soup that feeds a crowd, this one is it.

Chicken and Mushroom Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
I made this recipe as written, and we thought it was delicious! My 20 month old son LOVED it, he's not a vegetable eater, but he ate this right up, veggies and all. We didn't think this was bland at all, I'm not sure why people thought that. If you add the amount of oregano and pepper to the chicken that it called for then it tasted great. Thanks for posting this recipe, Joanie!

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I made this sweetened condensed milk tonight when I was craving a cinnamon latte, and really didn't want to make that trip to Starbucks. This worked out great! Very easy and a lot less expensive than buying the can. I'm not sure if I will ever buy a can of it again because of how quick this recipe for it is, it would be silly not to make it instead. I didn't have the problem of this burning like some others, but I just made sure I stirred it constantly until it was thickened. Oh, and my latte turned out fabulous! Thanks for the recipe, Jeannie!

Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
This potato soup was delicious. Great flavor, great consistancy, and so easy. I loved that I could make this with ingredients that I always have in the house without making a special trip to the store. My husband, who doesn't usually like potato soups that well really liked this. The method was interesting too with the onions, butter, flour and the rest of the spices - loved it! I will make this soup often because it is a good one to make when you're out of time and can't get to the store. Thank you for this recipe, Jo.

Cobb Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
I could seriously live off of this salad every day. So good!! I have had this salad numerous times at different restaurants, but had never actually made it myself. I am so glad I found this recipe though because now I can have my favorite salad that makes a ton for about half the price. I used turkey bacon since that is what we had here at the house, and the temperature was almost 100 degress (and it's only May!) so I didn't feel like cooking a hot chicken so we left that out. Delicious! Will make again when I get those Cobb salad cravings. Thanks for the recipe, Bill.

Mom's Good Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
These cinnamon rolls were delicious! They took a little while to wait, but that is mostly due to waiting for the dough to rise and not actual work. The time allowed me to clean my kitchen while we waited so there is nothing wrong with that! One of the reasons that we liked it so much was because the dough wasn't as sweet as some cinnamon rolls are. I thought maybe the next time I make them I would put some kind of glaze/frosting on them, but my husband said that he really liked the way they are now, so we'll see. And these made about 18 huge rolls, and I can't even imagine how big they would be if they were only cut into twelve pieces like the recipe states. That was the only change that I made to the recipe, and thought that they were perfect. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us!

Spinach and Mushroom Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
These quesadillas were great! I was surprised at how much flavor these had since there aren't very many ingredients. My whole family loved it, including my two year old, which was a shock since there wasn't any meat in it. The only thing I might change for next time is to add more mushrooms because I thought the spinach/mushroom ratio was just a little bit off. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Sausage Scramble

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
There is nothing more that I like than having breakfast for dinner! This recipe was quick, easy, and tasty, and an added bonus was that my two year old ate it. I forgot to buy the frozen potatoes so I just chopped up two medium size potatoes and cooked them in a skillet before I added the sausage to soften them up a bit. Thanks for posting this recipe!

Baked Potato Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
This dip was great! I made it for a New Year's Eve party and was so well liked and easy that my husband made it for a New Year's Day party. The bacon really adds a nice smokey flavor to the dip and the onions give it a slightly spicy taste. I didn't set the dip in the refrigerator overnight like the recipe states since I didn't have time, but it still tasted great! In fact, I don't know if that step is necessary because when I tasted it the next day it seemed the same to me. So if you're hesitant to try it because you're making it at the last minute, it will turn out just fine. This will be a dip that I make often whenever I need something easy and quick to take somewhere. Thank you for the recipe, Luanne!
