Chicken A La Orange

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
We thought this recipe was pretty good, and my whole family ate it really well. The only problem that I really had with this recipe was that the sauce was really thin, even after waiting quite a while to see if the sauce would thicken up. Taste was really good though. This is one that we might make again since everyone ate it, which doesn't happen that often with a five year old and two year old. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
This recipe was really good! I made it following the recipe exactly, and it was great. My whole family really loved it, which doesn't happen all that much with my five year old and almost two year old. In fact, my two year old ate two helpings of this, which doesn't happen often with him. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for the recipe!

Spicy Beef Nacho Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
My family really liked this! I did add a couple of things - black beans to kind of stretch the meal a bit since I'm feeding four people, and some black olives, but nothing that would change the recipe drastically. My five year old loved it, and my almost two year old ate mostly the meat and cheese, and kind of ate around the chips. That's okay though, I was just happy that he ate most of it! I will be making this again.

Jay's A Number One Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
I really liked this recipe, and my husband did also. It was great because these hamburgers used items that we already had around so we didn't have to buy anything extra. We used onion buns which complemented the meat nicely. We also didn't have an issue with them falling apart like it sounds like other people did, but we didn't measure everything exactly as the recipe said, just added enough ingredients to keep everything together. The steak sauce gave them a nice little kick but it wasn't anything too spicy by any means. Since we liked these a lot I'm sure we will be making them again, thanks for the recipe, ANDREWSBUNCH.

Italian Zucchini Saute

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
This recipe was both very easy and good. I reduced the amount of oil and salt that I used - as written it just seemed like they would be too much for this recipe. The oil I used maybe about a 1/4C. and the salt I just sprinkled some into the pan and didn't really measure it, but I know it was a lot less than what it called for. It was a winner with my family, other than my 5 year old picking out the tomatoes. I made this as a side dish to go with hamburgers and pasta salad, and it worked great for that. Since everyone seemed to like it I'm sure I will be making again sometime. Thank you for sharing the recipe, COLEE576!

Creamy Tuscan Bean and Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
This soup was all right, but not a favorite of ours. It was very easy and quick to make so that was a plus. I felt like all we could taste was the spinach and not much else. My four year old didn't want to eat "the green stuff" so he picked all of that out, but my one year old seemed to like it pretty well though. I'm hoping that with the leftovers the soup will kind of meld together a little better, and the spinach taste won't be as strong. We'll see. Great for convenience, but the taste wasn't that great.

Snickerdoodle Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
If you're craving that snickerdoodle taste without having the time to make cookies, then this is the recipe for you! This is so easy and quick to make - I think from the time I started until I got it in the oven was maybe 15 minutes. The only thing I changed was I added 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the dry ingredients because my cookie recipe calls for that, and in my opinion it's what makes that cookie 'special'. Otherwise, I followed the recipe, and it turned out great. A word of caution, make sure you start checking your cake before the 35 minutes is up. Mine was done at about 30 minutes, and I probably could have taken it out of the oven a couple of minutes before that even if I had checked it sooner. This had a nice, slightly crunchy topping, and a fluffy, sweet middle. So good! I know I will be making this one again for sure since it's so incredibly easy and uses ingredients that I always have around the house. Thanks for the recipe, Katee2! Okay, so now that I'm done writing out my review, I gotta go get another piece...it is really that good!

Irresistible Italian Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
Very, very simple, quick, and cheap! My one year old loooved it; this is all he wanted to eat for his dinner. The rest of us really liked it, too. I think this side dish would go well with most any kind of meat entree, but tonight we had it with baked chicken, and they were great together. Thanks for the recipe, I will be making this again for a quick weeknight side dish.

Baked Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
If you're looking for a simple recipe with ingredients that you probably already have around your kitchen then this one is for you. While I had this in the oven my four year old asked me if we were having chicken nuggets for dinner, and I replied that these would be even better than chicken nuggets. So during dinner after he had eaten the chicken he said to me, "Mommy, you were right. These were better than chicken nuggets". My night was made! So since it went over so well with everyone I'm sure we'll be having this again soon. The only problem that I had was that the breading ended up being kind of soggy on the bottom, but it still tasted really good. Thank you for the recipe, Marion!

Ian's Potato-Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
This soup was great, especially on a cold night like tonight. I did double the recipe to make sure we would have enough for leftovers for lunches this week, and I also omitted the salt. I figured between the cream of celery soup, and the beef bouillon, there was already enough salt, and it was. My oldest son doesn't usually eat potatoes (except in French fry form) ate all of his bowl, and said that the soup was really good. This was so quick and easy that it would be a great meal for a light dinner during the week. I will be making this soup often I'm sure. Thanks for the recipe, Ian!

White Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2013
I made this today for a quick lunch when my four year old said he wanted pasta. It turned out perfectly, and was quite good. I did add a little salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to spice it up a bit, otherwise it might have been a little bland. And to give it a cheesier flavor I added a little grated Parmesan cheese, too. Both of my boys ate it right up, and loved it. Because it is so easy and quick I will definitely be making this again since we always have these ingredients on hand. Thank you for sharing your recipe, CJO!

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
I made this recipe a couple of nights ago, and my husband and I thought it was great! I love regular spinach artichoke dip, but with the green chilies and jalopenos, it was even better. I was a little afraid the jalapenos would make it too spicy, but it was just the right amount of heat for me. Since there wasn't a lot of jalapenos or chilies it was a nice surprise of spice when you got a bite of them. I'm sure I will be making this again soon. Thank you for sharing the recipe, Wrightwood Girl!

Pepperoni Caesar Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
Great recipe! Flavorful without being over powering, and so easy to make. My whole family love it, and it's going fast so I'm glad that I doubled it so that I can have some of the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. To make it a little healthier I used turkey pepperoni and light Caesar dressing. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Barbara, I will be making this again soon!

Mashed Potato Timbales

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
My family and I really liked these! Some people said in their review that it is time consuming, but it really isn't if you only count the "active" time. Maybe ten minutes to cut the potatoes, another ten to mix the ingredients and pour into the muffin cups. My husband said that he thought they would be good for a brunch sometime instead of hashbrowns or some other kind of potato so we might try that idea. My one year old loooved these. They didn't keep their shape real well when we got them out of the muffin tin, but I just used a large spoon and scooped them out and they were fine. A different and interesting way to serve potatoes!

Boyfriend Bait Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
We thought this recipe was pretty good. I made this on a Sunday night, but it is quick enough that it would make a good weeknight meal too. We didn't think that it had a ton of flavor, and it seemed to be missing something, but I'm not sure what. My four year old ate most of his serving, kind of reluctantly, but I do think he liked it. And my 1 year old scarfed this down as if he hadn't eaten in a week! This might be his favorite thing that he has tried so far. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us!

The Supreme Jalfrezi Style Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This was pretty much amazing! I had been craving food from my favorite Mediterranean restaurant where they serve a dish that is very similar to this, but I didn't want to spend that much money eating out. This was perfect. It does take some time to chop up all of the vegetables, but it is so worth it. Very flavorful without being spicy, but I did leave the seeds out of the chilies. This is the first recipe that I have made of yours, Don, but I think I need to go raid more out of your recipe box! Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipe with us!

Herbed Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This was very good, but yet subtle in flavor. I did make it in the rice cooker just because I can never get rice to turn out otherwise, but I used all of the same ingredients except for the butter. I made this rice to go along with a chicken curry, and the subtleness was perfect for the bigger, bolder flavors of the curry. This rice would go along with pretty much any kind of entree, or if you wanted a light main dish, just add some chopped chicken to it. Thank you for the recipe, Norma!
