Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
There were some mixed reviews with this one - my husband didn't like it all that much, I thought it was pretty good, and my three year old LOVED it. So I decided to average it and go with 4 stars. The taste was a little bland so next time I will probably add more garlic and other spices. I did really like the consistancy of the sauce though, thick without much liquid, which is exactly how I like my marinara. Thank you for sharing this recipe, Jackie!

Mushroom and Jack Cheese Quesadillas

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
Yummy, these quesadillas were so good! At first I thought the addition of the mayonnaise was a little odd, and thought they might be better with sour cream instead, but I stuck with the mayo and I'm glad I did. Turned out great to add to the mushroom/onion/pepper combo to make the ingredients really come together. My whole family loved it and said that I could make them again sometime. This was very quick and easy too, which makes them even better.

Cobb Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
I could seriously live off of this salad every day. So good!! I have had this salad numerous times at different restaurants, but had never actually made it myself. I am so glad I found this recipe though because now I can have my favorite salad that makes a ton for about half the price. I used turkey bacon since that is what we had here at the house, and the temperature was almost 100 degress (and it's only May!) so I didn't feel like cooking a hot chicken so we left that out. Delicious! Will make again when I get those Cobb salad cravings. Thanks for the recipe, Bill.

Mom's Good Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
These cinnamon rolls were delicious! They took a little while to wait, but that is mostly due to waiting for the dough to rise and not actual work. The time allowed me to clean my kitchen while we waited so there is nothing wrong with that! One of the reasons that we liked it so much was because the dough wasn't as sweet as some cinnamon rolls are. I thought maybe the next time I make them I would put some kind of glaze/frosting on them, but my husband said that he really liked the way they are now, so we'll see. And these made about 18 huge rolls, and I can't even imagine how big they would be if they were only cut into twelve pieces like the recipe states. That was the only change that I made to the recipe, and thought that they were perfect. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us!

Bacon Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
This was a very easy and tasty frittata. Makes for a very inexpensive meal since most of these ingredients are pantry/refrigerator staples, which I liked a lot. I thought the baking time was way off though, ended up having it in the oven for almost 50 minutes before it set up. Liked it with the green onions and bacon. Next time I think I will decrease the salt a little since it was just a bit on the salty side, but no big deal. Thanks for a great recipe!

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Made this bread for part of our Easter dinner, and everyone like it very well. It was a little sweeter than what I normally like, but still, very good. Didn't change anything at all. Will make again because it is so simple, fast, and easy! Thanks for sharing the recipe, Karin.

Herbed Corn

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Made this tonight for 25 people for Easter, and it went over very well. Not much leftover, but I will enjoy the remainder tomorrow! I thought the amount of salt seemed like a lot so I just put in 1t. instead of the 2 and it was perfect. Will lower the number of sevings and make this for dinners for just my immediate family in the very near future. Thanks for a wonderful recipe, Edna!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
These fries were pretty good. I adjusted the baking time after reading some reviews saying that they were burning. I did 400 for 35 minutes and that worked out well. The seasoning was good, although next time I make these I think I will add a little salt to the potatoes to make the flavors more prominent. My son didn't care for them all that much, but he's not much of a potato eater so I won't count that into the rating. My husband and I liked them though so we will probably make them again. Thanks for the recipe, Ashlee!

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
This hamburger was amazing! I was afraid that with the jalapeno it would be too spicy, but it added just the right amount of kick to the burger. The mayo/cajun seasoning was a great way to tie the whole thing together so that you got spicy-ness throughout. I got in a hurry and forgot to add the Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture (realized it right when I was grilling them - oops!), but it didn't seem like the burger was missing anything. Loved by the whole family, my husband and I each ate one, and we gave a half to our three year old...now to see who gets the one leftover hamburger tomorrow. Will make again soon, I'm sure. Thanks for the great recipe, Sarah!

Garlic Spaghetti

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
This spaghetti was very good. I was looking for a meatless main dish, and this fit perfectly. The flavors of the spices was wonderful and the parmesan cheese gave it a nice finishing touch. I added a little more olive oil after I mixed the pasta with the sauce because I thought it looked a little dry, but didn't change anything else. My whole family liked it so I will make this again sometime. Perfect for an extremely quick meal, can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Thank you for the recipe, Jackie!

Egg Salad English Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
Oh, yum this was delicious egg salad! A few weeks ago I had an egg salad that was similar at a restaurant and I was looking on AR to see if I could find anything similar. I was in luck with this one! I love the addition of the bacon and cheese, something that my husband was not too sure about, however he ended up eating two sandwiches. So I think it went over all right. I did not have English muffins and our tiny store here does not carry them (strange, I know) so I just made them on regular sandwich bread and they turned out wonderful. Also added just a little more mustard, but they would have been perfectly fine without adding more also, just a personal preference. I can't wait to make these again sometime soon! Thanks, Deborah!

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
We loved these enchiladas, and will definitely make again. Even my two year old ate these so we consider this a great success. I didn't change anything about this recipe and thought it was wonderful exactly the way the recipe stated. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
We thought these black beans were great as a side dish with enchiladas. I think next time I will cut down on the onions a little, but it was still very good. Simple and easy, it didn't take hardly anytime to make. Thank you for sharing a great recipe!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I thought this recipe was pretty good, and my whole family enjoyed it. I only changed a couple of things - used fresh broccoli instead of frozen and used more corn starch to thicken it up more. Very good soup that makes a LOT, so if you're wanting to feed a bunch of people this would be a good recipe to use. However, if you're only making for a few people I would probably make less because I didn't think the soup tasted nearly as good the second time around. I thought reheating the processed cheese might have been the reason for it not reheating well. This is a great broccoli cheese soup and we will be making again. Thanks for the recipe, Karin!

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I made these wings for dinner tonight, and they were very well liked. I did bake them instead of frying just because I very rarely fry anything, but I would like to try these fried sometime to see if they would end up being any crispier. I knew the sauce would make it too spicy for my 2 year old so I left a few pieces with just the breading and no sauce, which turned out very tasty too. Thank you for a good recipe, Bettycook!

Taco Salad III

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
This taco salad was fantastic! Simple, every-day ingredients so it made it real easy to make. I loved the Catalina dressing on the salad, and I think that is what sets this taco salad apart from many others because of the unique taste. Some people said that they thought the Catalina was a bit off for a taco salad, but that is the key ingredient in making it different than your typical taco salad. Will definitely make again. AND my son ate his whole plate - WOW!! Thanks for the wonderful recipe, Melanie!

African Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
This stew was all right, not bad, but not real great either. I sampled a little right before I added the peanut butter and garbanzo beans, and I loved the flavor then...but after I added the peanut butter it just turned kind of blah for me. The peanut butter was very overpowering, so much so that I couldn't really even taste any of the other spices that I had put in it. And this is coming from someone who LOVES pb. Maybe I just don't like it in savory dishes, who knows? If I make it again I think I will add everything, but leave the pb out, and use chicken broth instead of water and make it more of a soup.

Ham and Cheese Crescent Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I made these for lunch today, and my two year old son loved them! He ate two of them in about thirty seconds. My husband and I liked them pretty well too. I will have to try several different combinations to see how we like them the best. Will definitely make again since they were so easy and quick.

Garlic-Buttered Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
These green beans were fantastic! My husband and I loved them, in fact he stated that, "These are the best green beans ever!". I love how the sauted mushrooms and butter mixed with the garlic and onion powder creates a really nice sauce for the beans. I get bored with plain old vegetable side dishes, so when I find one that makes eating them more interesting I make them often. This will be made quite often, especially since it is so easy! Thanks for posting this recipe, Adeline!

Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
This recipe was pretty good, although we found it to be a little dry. I wish I had added more sauce to it before I baked it. Oh well, I will know for next time! Overall, we liked it, and I'm sure we will have it again since it was quick and easy. My son did devour it, which is always good!
