Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Oh, my goodness! These were so good! Definitely one of the best things that I have made from this site. I didn't make mine in the bread machine, did it by hand, and I kneaded it for about eight minutes. I wasn't sure how they would turn out because on the second rise it didn't go up very much, but once they were in the oven they got huge. It was awesome! My husband was very impressed with how well these turned out, and that is saying a lot. Will definitely make these again, and now there is no need to buy pita bread at the store, which is a nice feeling. Thank you so much for a wonderful recipe, Sandy!

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This chicken was very good and so easy to make. After the chicken was defrosted it took no time at all to cook so it would be great for a quick weeknight meal. Thank you for sharing, Julia!

German Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
Loved the taste, loved the simplicity and easiness of preparing this recipe...so why the 4 stars? Waaay too much dressing. The cabbage was literally swimming in it. I will make this again because I really like a non-mayo coleslaw, but next time I will probably either drain the coleslaw or only use half of the dressing. That should solve that problem, and other than that it was great! Thanks for posting this recipe, Joyce!

German Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This soup was very good, we enjoyed it a lot! Some people said they had problems with the cheddar cheese melting, but I think that if you just melt it on low it shouldn't clump or leave a greasy layer, none of those problems for us anyway. Loved that the soup had tons of veggies in it, and the mayo gave it a nice little kick. We will be making this again definitely! If you're looking for a slightly different soup that feeds a crowd, this one is it.

Pepperoni Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
This recipe was very good and easy! I did bake the hollowed out zucchinis for 20 minutes at 370 since I don't like biting into crunchy zucchini, but other than that I didn't change it at all. Since I baked it twice the shells came out nice and tender and the filling in it was simple and wonderful. My husband and I really liked it, but the two year old didn't so much...oh well, we'll have it again for sure! Thanks for sharing this recipe, Singingchef!

Corn and Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Wow, this was spicy!! Even my husband who LOVES spicy things thought that it was a little too much. Next time I make it I will cut down a bit on the crushed red pepper and that should help. We did like it for the most part though, thanks for the recipe, Cari!

Spinach and Mushroom Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
These quesadillas were great! I was surprised at how much flavor these had since there aren't very many ingredients. My whole family loved it, including my two year old, which was a shock since there wasn't any meat in it. The only thing I might change for next time is to add more mushrooms because I thought the spinach/mushroom ratio was just a little bit off. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
I made this for lunch today, and my husband and I both loved it. Great, simple, very few ingredients make for a quick lunch! I liked the mustard in this egg salad, it gives it a little kick that my mom's egg salad never had. Thank you for posting this recipe!

Cheese Ravioli with Fresh Tomato and Artichoke Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
My husband made this tonight for us and we thought it was pretty good. I loved the taste of the artichokes and tomatoes together, and you can't go wrong with cheese ravioli in my opinion. The only thing I would change would be to add a little bit more of a sauce to it. I thought that some of the ravioli's were a little bit dry, but still good. Might try some white wine in it next time.

Gary's Turkey Burritos

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
We enjoyed this one, we liked the taste of the meat mixture very well. I wasn't sure how the ground turkey would taste with the tomato sauce, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was great! I did add a little bit of cumin, but I followed the rest of the recipe as written. Thank you for posting this recipe, Gary!

Garlic-Herb Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Thought these were pretty good, but surprisingly even with all of the herbs, they were a little bland. However, I think just adding a little more salt and another clove or two of garlic would probably take care of that problem. We did like these overall though, and I will experiment with them a little and see how it turns out. These mashed potatoes went very well with a baked Parmesan chicken. Thanks for the recipe, Suzi!

Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Very easy recipe to follow and tastes great. I liked that the bread crumbs made the outside slightly cripsy and flaky, but the inside was moist. The Parmesan gave it the cheesy flavor but was not overpowering at all, and the basil was a nice subtle flavor also. Good recipe that all three of us enjoyed. Thanks for the recipe, Mollie!

Dressed-Up Dogs

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
This recipe was very easy and tasted good. I liked making the dough for this because I felt like this stood up better than the ones I've made with the tube crescent rolls, those seemed to get really soggy. Two year old ate them really well, which is always a plus. Will make these again! Thanks, Roseann, this was a great recipe.

Southwestern Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
We enjoyed this a lot! I switched out the cottage cheese for ricotta, just personal preferences around here, but I left eveything else the same. I liked the mild flavor the green chilies and the monteray jack cheese gave the eggs, not overpowering but enough flavor to give it a good taste. Got rave reviews from my husband and even my two year old ate it, the two year old is usually very, very picky. Will definitely make this one again since it was liked by all. Thank you for the good recipe!

Bacon-Wrapped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
We thought this was pretty good, although the bacon didn't add as much flavor as I thought it would. The onions were a wonderful addition since the onion flavor kind of seeps into the whole potato, not a real strong flavor to where it takes away from the flavor of the potato but enough to give it a different flavor. The only thing we did differently was add cheddar cheese after the potatoes came out of the oven. Thanks for a great, easy recipe!

French Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
This bread was very, very good! It had all the qualities that I look for in a good French bread: it had a golden crust that was crispy to bite into, but the middle was soft and chewy. My husband and 2 year old son absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for posting a wonderful recipe, this will be my go to French bread from here on out!

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This recipe was very good, we all enjoyed them. The only thing that I changed, after reading reviews, was I only used 1 apple instead of two and I thought that was plenty. I don't see how two apples would even fit into the batter because there were a lot of apples with just using one. Anyway, liked these a lot and will be making these again for quick breakfasts. Thanks, Mindy!

Elegant Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Wow, we loved this recipe! In fact, it's probably one of my favorite ones off of this site. My extremely picky, veggie-hating son even ate this one right up. Thank you for posting this wonderful, healthy dish, Douggee! Will definitely make again.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
This was so simple and easy to make, and tasted pretty good too. Came out just slightly dry so next time I will add a few tablespoons of milk I think. Otherwise it was great! I liked the fried onions on the top because I thought it gave the casserole a slightly different taste than the one I'm used to. Thanks for posting this recipe!

Cheddar-Thyme Flaky Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
I successfully made cut-out biscuits! I really liked this recipe, followed the directions to a T and it worked beautifully. In the past, none of the cut-out biscuits ever turned out so obviously I am very excited that I got it this time. I loved the slightly sweet taste that the sugar gave to the biscuit. Not too sweet, but sweet enough to give it a slightly different taste. Thanks for a great recipe, Laura!
