Braised Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I really really really wanted to like this. I did what others suggested and braised in the chicken broth and I know that made a huge difference. But just not that great to me. Oh well.

Quinoa with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
Used as a base. First time I ever had/made quinoa. I used both oyster and cremini shrooms. Also sauteed celery, green pepper, basil, red onion and lots of garlic before adding it to the quinoa. I'll use this again. The parm cheese gave it that extra kick it needed

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
I used this as a good base. I had 5 bananas I needed to use. Like others, put some cinnamon, nutmeg, and a splash of vanilla in there. Some of the best, tastiest banana bread yet. It's almost like cake.

Rum or Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Made these for a holiday party. I think I added a bit too much rum...but they were still really good

Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Artichoke Hearts, Feta Cheese, Capers, and Black Olives

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Instead of artichoke hearts I use spinach. The feta in this dish brings out lots of great flavor. I serve this over brown rice...Make sure to OVERstuff the chicken...the extra sauce makes for a great rice topping!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I make this every time we have guests for dinner and are having steak or ribs. I leave out the onions since my husband is not a fan of them. I do garlic, salt, pepper, and put chives in the potatoes before adding the cheese mixture. I like to add cheddar, parmesan, feta, and gruyere cheese to the mix. I also like to do a mixture of both potatoes and cauliflower. It adds some nutrition and takes away lots of the starchiness!

Halibut Supreme

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I did as other reviewers suggested and salt, peppered, garlic rubbed the filets before I added the cheese mixture. I did not deviate from the actual cheese mixture recipe and this was scrumptious!!! However, I would suggest saving the halibut (mine was a bit pricey) and topping lame boring cheap chicken breasts with this. It's wonderful! I served mine with brown rice and oven roasted asparagus

Delish Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I was looking for my "first" homemade sloppy joe recipe. This is it - I add a bit of onion and garlic powder and green pepper but otherwise I follow the recipe to a tee and it's FANTASTIC. No more manwich in this house....Thanks!

Mom's Red Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly except subsituting cream of mushroom for cream of broccoli. I did what other reviews said - take foil off and bake for another 10-20 minutes. This was AMAZING. I'll probably never buy boxed scalloped potatoes again. Actually, I know I won't. Sooooo good.

Pumpkin Pecan Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This was very good. Add a lot more pumpkin pie spice if you want the pumpkin flavor to come through. Also, this was much better after being in the fridge completely chilled.

Breakfast Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Made this for work breakfast. It was gone in 10 minutes flat. Used tater tots, added green and red pepper, mushrooms, garlic, onion. Made it the night before. I layered my ingredients and then poured the egg mixture over it. Fantastic! I'm making it again for a girls brunch.

Yogurt Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
This was pretty good. Made and served with Hawaiian bread. There's something missing in it...I think it needs a bit of a kick but I'll definitely make this before I ever buy that chemical tasting stuff in the store! I might add some cayenne next time. Just a pinch.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Even my girlfriends who hate mushrooms devoured these. I tripled the recipe for a party and these were gone in 10 minutes. Everyone kept asking for more. I followed the recipe exactly.

White Peach Sangria

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
I recently made this for a wedding shower. We went through 1 1/2 gallons of wine and a handle of vodka. Wow! Only changes - I used splenda instead of sugar and frozen peaches instead of fresh. I used Rossi Chenin White Wine and Absolut Peach Vodka. Definitely will make this again and again...
