Aunt Sally Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
These cookies were excellent!! The frosting recipe made too much, at least for the amount we used per cookie so I might reduce to half next time. In order for the frosting to harden, let them sit at room temperature for several hours. Oh, and unlike most cookie recipes where the total is referring to tiny 1.5" cookies, this recipe actually does make 72 LARGE cookies.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I made these cookies exactly as posted and found them to be quite delightful. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they are not "to-die-for" in my opinion. Never the less, my whole family found them good. I never measure bananas for these kind of recipes, I simply used three old bananas that I had in the freezer. Let them thaw while the butter softens and they plop right out of the peel. I also baked mine on stoneware and made about 3.5 dozen total. As to the type of cookie, these are not comparable to most chocolate chip cookies, but are more like fluffy old fashioned sugar cookies.

Turtle Brownies

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Niether my husband nor I cared for this recipe. The brownie itself was dry and tasted very much like the premade Little Debbie brownies you buy at the store. We did cut the sugar in half to make them healthier, but it was the textur that turned us off.

A little tricky to always stick together, but overall very good. Great with chocolate drizzled over the top.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I received several compliments on this frosting and vowed never to buy chocolate frosting again! I often find frostings from powdered sugar too sweet. To counter that I sifted the flour directly into a measuring bowl and added the 9 cups sifted to the recipe. This gave it the perfect amount of sweetness. If you need help spreading it so that it does not crumble the cake, get a glass of warm water. Dip the frosting tool into the warm water and spread out the frosting. This is just enough heat to spread only the top of the frosting without melting it. It comes out very shiny and smooth this way too.
