Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
Amazing! I only added 1/4 cup sugar, and it was great. Next time I will try substituting applesauce for the oil and stevia for the sugar to make this recipe completely healthy. I'm sure the applesauce will be great, but I'm curious to see how the stevia tastes in this recipe.

Whole Wheat Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
This recipe is SO easy and DELICIOUS! I am thrilled to have a 100% whole wheat pita recipe! Most recipes that say 100% Whole Wheat actually aren't, and it gets really frustrating. I used wheat flour to roll the dough in instead of all-purpous to keep it completely healthy. I did use olive oil... wish there were something else I could use instead of the oil. Olive oil is good for you until you heat it up. Other than the oil, this recipe is completely nutritious!! Hurray!

Amish Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This is kind of a mix between a shortbread cookie and a sugar cookie. It is now perhaps my favorite cookie. Amazing! I made it with whole wheat flour, and it was still wonderful. I use whole wheat with everything though, so I'm used to the flavor. I will use white flour when making for other people. I didn't have cream of tartar, so I substituted 3 times as much vinegar as a substitute.

Ultimate Irresistible Granola

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
This is the PERFECT granola recipe!!! And it is SOOO easy to make!!! I have tried other granola recipes that were good, but this one is EXCELLENT and much easier to make. My husband is thrilled I found this recipe because now I'll stay stocked up on home-made granola like I've been saying I want to. I'm not too crazy about the sunflower seeds, so I'll leave those out next time. Like a previous reviewer suggested, I added an extra cup of oats, but I didn't have sesame seeds, so I left those out. I used extra virgin olive oil instead of canola, and it worked very nicely. You can also tightly press this mixture into a container and refrigerate it to make wonderful chewy granola bars. Anyone who likes granola MUST try this recipe!!!

Whole Wheat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This was very moist, but quite orange-y and a bit bitter. (Maybe I used too much peel?) Because this bread was *almost* wonderful I will definitely be making this again with some alterations. I'll be taking the advice of other reviewers and use 3 bananas + 1 orange and no orange zest.

I thought these were very good. I wasn't crazy about the dill, so I'll leave that out next time. I added a bit of cayenne, and that gave it a nice punch.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
I have tried many pizza dough recipes but have kept searching for "the one." This is it! My searching is over! Best pizza crust ever!!! You can make the dough thick, and it's crusty with a nice soft center. If you make it thinner and cook it a little longer, it makes the perfect crispy thin crust. WONDERFUL!

I took these to a baby shower, and everybody LOVED them! They're so light and fluffy! I omitted the almond extract and added some cinnamon to the batter. I also added a tsp of vinegar in place of the cream of tartar. Wonderful recipe!

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
WONDERFUL! And soooooooooooo easy!!!! I made it even easier... This morning I put some black beans with water in the crock pot to cook all day. This afternoon I added the salsa and a teaspoon of minced garlic. Voila! Perfecto! I also added a bit of cheese on top in our bowls since we didn't have any sour cream, but I'm sure the sour cream is great. When I do this next time I will add a dollop of plain yogurt instead of sour cream. I use that in place of all sour cream. So much healthier and you can't even tell the difference.
