Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
The Cookie That Saved Valentines Day! I decided to make my hubby's favorite cookie for Vday. The first batch (another recipe here) was just awful, but edible. Not Vday quality or up to my standards, so these are for the neighborhood kids. This batch however. . . . so perfect! The only thing that didn't work as planned was the baking time. Each round of cookies that went in the oven (even on dark pans) needed longer cooking times. However for somebody who easily burns cookies (like myself!) this was a great 'oops'. Thanks so much for this recipe and for saving my day;)

Light Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Just looking at them out of the oven, I don't want to eat them. I followed all the instructions to the 't' and made no substitutions. They are tiny flat little things that were on their way to being burnt at 6 minutes. Many people had luck with this, so I rated it a little better, thinking maybe there was some user error.

Gravy Potatoes

fast and easy! I diced and fried my potatoes in oil rather than baked them, due to time, and it was great!

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
FOOL PROOF! I ruin every batch of biscuits I bake. . . and this one, so delicious on the first try!!! I made this recipe just like it was written. My shortening was butter flavored and I did smear room temp butter (real butter) on top before baking. But the recipe, including the kneading 20 times was GREAT once out of the oven!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
I gave this cookie 5 stars but my hubby says only a 4 1/2 because they aren't sweet enough for him. I will definitely use this recipe from now on, though I may tamper with the sweetness of it.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
First off: I love this recipe. Mine tasted great (though I used 1/4 t. each almond and orange extracts) and was much easier to mix than I thought. I don't have a decent mixer (it overheats w/ cake batter!!!) so I mixed it my hand. It's easier than kneading bread dough, so no big deal for me. I am currently letting it chill out in my freezer (no time!!!) because it's very warm in NE right now. But I can't wait to roll it out and put it on my cake!!! One tip I do have: read all the reviews or at least most of them. I found it was easier to watch others' mistakes. And I always sift my ingredients. For frosting, I actually will sift no less than three times and for this one I did it 5 times. Good luck, and read the reviews before you start!!
