Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I absolutely LOVED this dish. This was my first experience with quinoa and I am very impressed. I added a can of rinsed tomatoes, a whole orange pepper, and used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth. I will be making this again for sure. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (I did not rinse or soak the quinoa before cooking and it was just the right texture.)

The taste was totally off for me. I was bummed. It might be me, but I followed the recipe pretty well.

Maple-Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
This was a fantastic recipe, followed it almost exactly except I microwaved the glaze instead of making it on the stove, and I used sugar free syrup. I also added some carrots to the roasting pork and they were delicious with a little glaze and brown sugar melted on them! DELICIOUS!! Thank you so much!

Fantastic recipe as is, I let it sit about 40 minutes and the dough was super easy to roll out. Thank you so much for the recipe!

Banana Oatmeal Bread

Excellent banana bread recipe. I used 1/2 applesauce and 1/2 spread as suggested in other reviews. I also used whole wheat flour. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for the recipe!!

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
Absolutely delicious. I didn't rate 5 stars because I didn't follow the exact recipe. Altered the amounts of sugar and oil as stated by other reviews and add some chopped up grilled chicken. Also used almond slivers toasted with the ramen noodles sprinkled with ramen seasoning. Thank you!

Butternut Squash and Spicy Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
I'm giving this recipe a 4 because it was awesome but I made a ton of changes to it. First, I used smoked sausaged that I halved and sliced instead of loose, spicy sausage. I also sauteed onions, celery, and carrots along with the sausage. Toward the end I added about a cup of cheese and doubled the amount of rice called for. It was five stars for sure that way. Will definitely be making this again.

Jumbo Breakfast Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Since I didn't have a banana I did use a little more applesauce and a little more butter - and I subbed rice krispies - I'm definitely loving this recipe and look forward to trying it with the high fiber cereal!!

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
These pancakes are fantastic. My picky two-year old eats them up and asks for more! I find myself craving them if I don't eat them for a week or two. Delicious and relatively healthy. I make the recipe completely as is and it rocks! Thank you!!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Excellent recipe. I added a bit more ketchup as recommended in other reviews, and it was better than most sweet and sour sauces I get at local restaurants. Definitely a keeper! Thank you!

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

I don't like to give 5 stars, but honestly, this is my second of the night. Way to go on a low fat alternative for us bread/cake cravers! Loved them!! (I followed the mashed banana suggestion!)

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
Excellent! My husband remarked, "Honey, everything you make with cornbread is awesome!" I thought it was delicious, especially with the little bite to it from the green chiles. I did use olive oil instead of any butter. I sauteed the onions and garlic in about a tablespoon, and sauteed fresh mushrooms (instead of canned) in about 2 tablespoons. All in all, GREAT meal! Thank you!

My husband could not stop eating this bread. I think we ate half a loaf in 15 or 20 minutes. I made it by hand and loosely followed the recipe. It's delicious!! Thank you!!
